Description

The company is building AI features with customers across its tax and accounting products. The team works as a startup inside a larger enterprise and begins with real customer problems rather than with the technology.

Engineers, product managers, UX designers and researchers work side by side. Engineers understand the business problem as well as the code, product managers prototype their own ideas, and designers and researchers turn user needs into evidence-based designs. The team runs weekly sprints, follows Agile and XP, uses BDD and TDD, and rotates pair programming partners daily.

The role suits someone who learns new technology quickly, communicates clearly across teams, works well in collaborative settings, and cares about human-centred AI that delivers real value to professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Co-design AI solutions with customers, starting from their actual problems.
  • Build human-centric AI features that show measurable value through short feedback cycles.
  • Create AI solutions that can be reused across several products and customer segments in the tax and accounting portfolio, and help other teams do the same.
  • Design and implement AI features in Python and current frameworks, including intelligent document processing, automated workflows and AI analytics, with attention to security, product experience and scalability.
  • Work closely with engineers, product managers, designers and researchers so you understand the business problem as well as the technical solution.

Requirements

  • 3+ years building software applications, with Python and JavaScript or TypeScript preferred.
  • 1+ years of hands-on work with LLMs or AI systems, with NLP preferred.
  • Full-stack development skills.
  • Experience with Agile or XP practices, including TDD, BDD and pair programming.
  • Working knowledge of AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot or Cursor.
  • Regular use of GenAI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude in your development work.
  • 3+ years leading complex technical projects from start to delivery.
  • Experience in startups or innovation teams.
  • Comfort in Agile teams with weekly sprints, where roles overlap but stay aligned.
  • Working knowledge of AI and ML frameworks such as LangChain, Hugging Face or OpenAI APIs.
  • Experience with vector databases and embeddings.
  • Understanding of prompt engineering and AI optimization.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and help teams adopt new technology.
  • Preferred: Microsoft Azure AI-102 certification is highly desired. The team is 100% certified and values it as proof of Azure AI expertise.
  • Preferred: experience with Azure AI services, advanced AI frameworks or multimodal AI systems.
  • Preferred: background in startups, innovation teams or product-focused companies that put customer co-design and rapid value delivery first.
  • Preferred: experience with document processing, financial data analysis or B2B professional software.
  • Preferred: experience with MLOps, AI governance or cross-portfolio AI work, particularly in regulated or compliance-driven settings.

Conditions

Compensation range: $92,700.00 - $161,850.00 USD, based on the primary location of the position.

The role is eligible for Bonus.

The actual base salary offer depends on factors including skills, experience and hiring location. Your recruiter can share details on the offer for the job location during hiring.

The hiring process includes in-person interviews, and applicants may be required to appear onsite at a company office.

Candidates are asked to remove virtual backgrounds and to take part without AI tools or outside prompts, since AI-generated answers or third-party help during interviews is grounds for disqualification.

  • 401(k) and FSA/HSA accounts.
  • Commuter benefits, tuition assistance, vacation and sick time, and paid parental leave.
