We are hiring two senior software engineers for Autonex Tech Effectiveness, a team inside Core Tech that works across the company's business units.
The team builds software that helps engineering groups deliver more effectively and use their budgets and people well. Its scope covers cloud and AI spend, software licences, delivery insights, and the workflows linking them.
You would build AI agents, integrations and internal products that turn data into decisions and actions, working with engineers, engineering leaders and Finance.
The company has more than 50 nationalities among its staff.
Responsibilities
Build and extend the company's AI products, their companion tools, and self-service analytics for engineering effectiveness and FinOps.
Design agent workflows that use tool calling, orchestration, retrieval and memory, with clear permissions, human approval steps and an audit trail for every action.
Connect engineering and financial data through APIs and dependable pipelines, including integrations with Slack, Jira, the developer portal, and cloud and AI providers.
Build FinOps features for cost attribution, forecasting, anomaly detection and optimisation across cloud, AI and software spend, keeping the financial maths accurate and traceable.
Make delivery easier to see and cut down on admin work, waiting time and workflow friction. Help teams weigh operational work against product development.
Own products from discovery and design through release and operation. Build evaluations, tests and monitoring that track agent behaviour, reliability, security, latency and cost.
Work with engineering, Finance, Procurement and Employee Tech to decide which improvements to build first, using adoption, user feedback and measured results.
Requirements
Senior software engineering experience, typically 5+ years, building and running production applications or services, with strong design, testing, debugging and maintainability habits.
Hands-on work building LLM-based applications and agent systems used in real workflows, and the ability to explain the design choices, failure modes and trade-offs.
Strong coding skills in at least one language, ideally Python or TypeScript, and comfort with APIs, data integrations and distributed systems.
Genuine interest in AI and a habit of experimenting, learning and shipping. You use modern AI coding tools such as Claude Code or Codex daily and own the results.
Practical experience deploying and operating software on AWS or a similar cloud, including CI/CD and observability, and sound judgement on reliability, security and running cost.
Interest in engineering effectiveness, including developer experience, delivery flow, automation and responsible resource use, and a wish to check whether a tool actually helps people and how to measure it.
Clear communication, product thinking and ownership. You can shape a vague problem into a practical solution and work with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
Would help: experience in FinOps, cloud cost optimisation, engineering analytics, developer experience or engineering operations. Willingness to learn these areas also counts.
Would help: experience with agent frameworks, MCP integrations, Amazon Bedrock or AgentCore. The current agents use the Strands Agents SDK, but other stacks are welcome.
Would help: experience building internal tools, dashboards or data products that people rely on for decisions, and using metrics with care for their context.
Conditions
You would join a small team that uses AI across its own work and builds products for colleagues throughout the business.
The company values diverse perspectives and an inclusive, respectful workplace.
Benefits
Ownership of meaningful problems and real room to shape the solutions.
Tools, training and support to learn new skills and work in a way that suits you.
Success here means tools people trust and use, less time lost to friction, and better decisions about engineering investment.
