Description

The company is a profitable, fast-growing technology business in Woburn, Massachusetts, part of a larger scientific solutions group with a global service network and distribution centres. The group has over 80+ years of history in science and works with commercial, government, academic and healthcare customers.

The company holds a patented, proprietary acoustic platform for sample preparation, a leading position in DNA sequencing prep, and applications in drug delivery and formulation development.

This role leads a newly launched product area in whole blood collection and extraction. It combines technical product management with product marketing and go-to-market work, and you will work with Marketing, Sales, Applications, Business Development, R&D, Manufacturing and Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Own the product strategy, roadmap, lifecycle and the prioritisation of the NPI backlog and sustaining requests for your product line, refreshing the strategy at least twice a year as input to the annual operating plan.
  • Build and maintain competitive intelligence and market trend analysis for the product line.
  • Own the go-to-market work: value proposition, positioning and messaging, customer segmentation and targeting, and the launch plan for the top application areas.
  • Create and maintain sales enablement materials and deliver product training to the sales team.
  • Gather voice-of-customer insight in the market, working alongside customer-facing teams.
  • Serve as the subject-matter expert and single point of ownership for your product line.
  • Coordinate the rollout of materials to the company's distribution partners.
  • Write technical product requirements, business cases, revenue models, and revenue and pipeline targets.
  • Own adoption and revenue for the product line, set metrics and goals, and report to senior leadership.
  • Keep deep knowledge of the sample collection market, its competitors and its trends.
  • Own the delivery and completion of new product development in your application area, including its launch plan.

Requirements

  • You have 10+ years of experience in product management, product marketing, or both, ideally in life sciences or diagnostics.
  • You can present to senior leaders, distil complex information and tell a clear story.
  • You can build business case, revenue, pipeline and pricing models.
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI.
  • You think critically, communicate and interact well with others, and can set priorities and timelines.
  • You think strategically, can turn plans into action, and can turn data into practical plans.
  • Preferred: an advanced degree in a biological field, with experience in genomics or next-generation sequencing (NGS) workflows.
  • Preferred: experience with blood or sample collection markets and applications.
  • A plus: experience in proteomics or oncology.
  • Beneficial: experience branding products for life science and clinical markets.
  • A plus: experience launching FDA-listed or regulated products, such as under an ISO 13485 quality system, and working within a structured phase-gate NPI process.

Conditions

The role is on-site at the global headquarters in Woburn, Massachusetts.

Expect 25-30% travel, domestic and international, for customer visits, joint trips with commercial teams and key conferences.
