The company builds a people intelligence platform for HR and is applying AI to its own workflows to free up time for higher-impact work. The team is looking for people who are curious and want to find out how AI can improve their work and reshape HR software.
This role owns discovery for all platform data and the program that makes each product domain usable by AI. The canonical data model defines the data. This role makes that data findable, documented, quality-scored, and safe for an AI agent to use.
Responsibilities
Own the data catalog as a product, covering domain onboarding, metadata and documentation standards, data quality signals, and search that serves both internal builders and AI agents.
Lead the AI-ready domain program: set the assessment bar, decide the migration order, and maintain a dated plan that brings every product domain to a state AI agents can use.
Prioritize catalog population by how much AI features need each domain, so the most-needed domains are onboarded first.
Work with the owner of the canonical data model so catalog entries match its entity definitions rather than creating parallel ones.
Measure readiness and publish per-domain status leadership can act on. Keep "assessed" and "ready" as separate states.
Own the context and signal surfaces agents use as they grow from proofs of concept into platform capabilities, including rules for which signals agents may use.
Work with legal and security on data classification, consent boundaries, and what agent access to each domain requires.
Within the first 180 days: finish catalog onboarding for the top domains on the readiness assessment list, with documented quality signals.
Within the first 180 days: publish a readiness scoreboard showing each domain's state, blocker, and date.
Within the first 180 days: create an onboarding playbook so domain teams can join the catalog without you.
Within the first 180 days: deliver the first dated batch of domain migrations toward migrating every product domain.
Requirements
Aligned with the company's values.
5+ years of product management in data platforms, data infrastructure, developer tools, or similar technical products.
Working knowledge of metadata, data contracts, or data quality. You can read a schema, test a readiness claim, and separate real documentation from documentation that only looks complete.
Experience running a multi-team migration with a scoreboard, dates, and named owners.
Track record of aligning teams you do not manage.
Experience getting readiness work done in domain teams that control the roadmap you rely on but not the result you answer for.
Willingness to hold the quality bar when there is constant pressure to mark domains ready sooner.
Ability to design for two audiences: human builders who need discovery and docs, and AI agents that need machine-readable contracts and guardrails.
Ability to explain a readiness decision clearly to both technical and non-technical people.
Self-directed, and able to spot the next constraint without waiting to be told.
Nice to have: experience with data catalogs, governance tools, or master data management.
Nice to have: exposure to AI and large language model (LLM) features, and knowledge of what makes data usable by agents in practice.
Nice to have: product experience with graph or relationship-query capabilities.
