Senior Product Manager – Competitive Intelligence

Description

The company builds retail software, and this role leads its Competitive Intelligence product suite, which collects competitor data, matches products across sources, and delivers insights to retailers as a data service in a SaaS setting.

The product manager will turn complex data capabilities into products that customers can scale and differentiate, and will work with a team operating in a fast-moving, sometimes unclear environment.

Responsibilities

• Set the strategy and roadmap for the Competitive Intelligence capabilities, from competitive price collection and product matching through data enrichment and delivery of insights to customers.
• Define product requirements for web scraping, automated data acquisition, data normalization, and scalable competitive data pipelines.
• Shape product matching, covering attribute-based, fuzzy, semantic, and AI/ML-driven approaches, with a focus on accuracy, coverage, and the ability to explain results.
• Build scalable Data-as-a-Service offerings that let customers access reliable, timely competitive intelligence through APIs, data feeds, and analytics.
• Work closely with Engineering, Data Science, UX, and customer-facing teams on discovery, prioritization, and delivery.
• Set success measures for data coverage, freshness, matching accuracy, data quality, customer adoption, and commercial value.
• Balance strategic investment against customer commitments, operational scale, and speed to market.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of product management experience, ideally in B2B SaaS, retail technology, competitive intelligence, or data-driven products.
• Solid understanding of web scraping and data acquisition, including collection methods, data quality, scalability, and the operational problems they cause.
• Experience with product matching and entity resolution, including product attributes, taxonomy, fuzzy matching, and machine learning approaches.
• Knowledge of Data-as-a-Service business models, data commercialization, APIs, and subscription-based intelligence products.
• Good grasp of retail pricing, competitive benchmarking, assortment intelligence, and how retailers position themselves against competitors.
• Experience running data-heavy products that involve large-scale processing, automation, analytics, and AI/ML.
• Strong skills in product discovery, requirements writing, roadmap prioritization, stakeholder management, and agile delivery.
• Able to work with Engineering and Data Science teams and turn technical capabilities into measurable customer results.
• Comfortable in fast-paced, ambiguous settings, with a sense of ownership, adaptability, sound judgment, and a bias toward action.
