Senior Platform Engineer - Cloud Platform (all genders)

Description

The company runs a commerce platform used by brands and retailers to build direct-to-consumer sales. It is one of the fastest-growing enterprise platforms of its kind, and the team works across countries with a strong focus on data.

This role sits in the cloud platform team and supports the infrastructure that application teams rely on.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and extend the global AWS infrastructure, defined entirely in Terraform and Terragrunt.
• Own the core Kubernetes platform components, including ingress, VPC networking, scaling approaches and secrets management.
• Build and run monitoring, alerting and logging with Datadog, OpenSearch and Fluentd.
• Advise internal application teams as the platform expert, helping them ship microservices safely through GitLab CI.
• Take part in the on-call rotation to keep the platform running around the clock.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of dedicated Platform or SRE experience in cloud environments, at senior level.
• Deep knowledge of AWS cloud architecture, managed strictly through Terraform and Terragrunt.
• Hands-on experience running production Docker and Kubernetes clusters at scale.
• Ability to read and write Go, from basic to intermediate level, for scripting, debugging and platform tooling.
• Based in Hamburg, Germany, or living in Germany and willing to relocate to Hamburg.
