Senior Partner Solution Engineer - Hardware

The company is the company, a financial technology platform that provides payments, data and financial products in one solution to large customers such as Meta, Uber, H&M and Microsoft.

The team builds solutions for complex technical problems at scale and works as one group to solve them.

This is a Senior Partner Solutions Engineer role focused on hardware, owning the technical relationship with one or more of the company's most complex hardware OEM partners.

The company is moving its hardware offerings toward a hardware independence model, so this role has a large influence on how the relationship is shaped.

The OEM relationship is one of the more demanding in the portfolio, so you will be expected to apply judgment and strategy rather than follow an existing playbook.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary and most senior technical advisor to your OEM's engineering team and lead escalations on the hardest device-level issues.
• Set the technical direction for your OEM relationship, deciding which issues come first, which process gaps to close and how automation and tooling should develop.
• Align Product, Engineering, Hardware Integrity and Reliability, and Commercial on OEM priorities, including resolving conflicts between them.
• Design and roll out tooling, automation and process changes that scale quality work across the relationship.
• Work with Commercial to make proactive improvements to the payment experience on partner devices, not only reactive fixes.
• Coach other Partner Solutions Engineers on debugging and partner management, without managing them.
• Help design a scalable operating model for Hardware Partner Engineering as the company adds OEM relationships and device coverage.

Requirements

• At least 8 years in a technical solutions, partner engineering or related role, including customer-facing work such as developer advocacy, partner engineering, technical solutions engineering or solutions architecture.
• At least 4 years of hands-on embedded, firmware or systems engineering, with meaningful work in hardware or device-level environments.
• Embedded Android experience in point-of-sale settings, such as payment terminals, kiosks or unattended and vending machines, is a plus.
• You can independently assess an OEM's root-cause claims and hold senior OEM engineers accountable for them.
• You have turned a reactive backlog into lasting process, tooling or automation.
• You communicate clearly and are comfortable leading discussions with senior partner engineering leaders and internal stakeholders.
• You are self-driven and think strategically, several steps beyond the current ticket queue.
• You are willing to travel to OEM locations and work across time zones.
