Senior Native Mobile Developer - iOS or Android | Retail

Description

The company's tech community is hiring a senior native mobile developer for its Retail Business Unit, based in Helsinki, Amsterdam or Lisbon.

The role suits someone who enjoys hard problems in native mobile work, likes working across disciplines, and prefers a flat structure with few management layers.

You support clients on native iOS, native Android, or both, depending on the project.

The company has spent two decades building ways to adapt to change while looking after its people.

Responsibilities

• Build native apps for iOS, Android, or whichever platform the project needs.
• Create polished mobile interfaces, including animations that run smoothly.
• Work on mobile SDKs, integrations, analytics, ad tech and attribution tools, depending on the client.
• Work with clients and stakeholders to pin down needs, lead initiatives across their organization, and help technical and business teams choose suitable technology.
• Shape architecture and the long-term technical direction.
• Join discovery and concept work, and deliver in iterations rather than only writing code.
• Own testing, debugging, monitoring, troubleshooting and production quality.
• Now and then work beyond mobile on backend, API or cloud infrastructure when the project calls for it.

Requirements

• Solid hands-on experience with Swift and/or Objective-C for native iOS.
• Solid hands-on experience with Kotlin and/or Java for native Android.
• Ownership of quality: you carry a feature through the full cycle and make sure it is defect-free when users receive it.
• Hands-on experience monitoring production apps and fixing problems there.
• Experience working with several stakeholders on hard, unclear problems.
• Fluent spoken and written English for working in an international team.
• Several years of professional experience are usually needed to reach depth in both mobile platforms.
• Nice-to-haves: experience with SwiftUI and/or Jetpack Compose.
• Nice-to-haves: experience with reactive programming.
• Nice-to-haves: experience with Flutter.
• Nice-to-haves: experience distributing beta builds through App Store and Google Play.
• Nice-to-haves: experience publishing apps on App Store and Google Play.
• Nice-to-haves: familiarity with backend development, APIs, databases or cloud infrastructure.
• Nice-to-haves: interest in polished animation and close work with motion designers.
• Nice-to-haves: Finnish language skills.
• Nice-to-haves: adaptability.
• Nice-to-haves: willingness to work in a hybrid setup, split between office, client premises and remote work.
