Lead Developer

Description

The company's tech community is hiring lead developers for its Turku office.

You will oversee the full software development lifecycle, support your team and help it deliver results.

You are an experienced developer who likes hard technical problems and can bring clarity when things are unclear.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for the client on technical questions and delivery quality.
• Coordinate between the client's technical and business teams so that delivery stays on track.
• Build new features that touch front-end apps, back-end servers and/or databases, and understand what the infrastructure must provide for the team.
• Help the team improve how it works by letting it find the best workflows and protecting a healthy work-life balance for its members.
• Build lasting relationships with the client so that future work follows.
• Help the team adopt and stick to agile practices.

Requirements

• Broad experience across back end, front end and ops. Successful candidates usually have at least 8 years of relevant work experience.
• Solid understanding of agile project management principles.
• Previous experience as a team lead and as a consultant.
• Experience working with several client stakeholders to solve complex problems.
• Previous experience with at least one common server-side language. Many current projects use TypeScript/JavaScript and Node.js, while Java/Scala/Kotlin, Clojure and Python are also used.
• Strong knowledge of at least one common client-side language and framework. Web projects often use TypeScript/JavaScript and React; mobile work uses Swift, Java/Scala/Kotlin, or TypeScript/JavaScript with React Native.
• Skills to build new backend services and adjust CI/CD pipelines when a project needs it.
• Know-how with databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Willingness to work in a hybrid setup, at the office or on client premises with your team.
