Description

The role sits in Planning and Operations at the company's UK business and leads how marketing performance is measured.

It covers a balanced scorecard of brand, marketing and design measures and works closely with the Decision Intelligence team to judge how well marketing works and where resources should go.

The purpose is to build and roll out marketing strategies that promote the brand, products and services across several markets.

Responsibilities

  • Build and deliver marketing strategy that fits business goals, based on market research, customer needs and the competitive picture.
  • Work with product, sales and other teams so marketing supports company-wide objectives and delivers clearly defined results when needed.
  • Create targeted, persuasive content for channels such as print and media, plus supporting collateral where required.
  • Analyse data to guide decisions and sharpen campaigns, measuring and reporting performance with data analytics tools.
  • Manage the marketing budget and allocate resources to get the best return.
  • Set the marketing vision and goals, define objectives, and work across teams to reach clear outcomes.
  • Lead measurement strategy, approach and reporting across the scorecard, interpreting output from Marketing Mix Modelling, Multi-Touch Attribution and Econometrics Modelling.
  • Turn numbers into insight and action, and persuade senior stakeholders across functions to shape strategy, plans, operations and campaigns.
  • Keep a constant feedback loop running between strategy, planning, operations, CX design, campaigns, agencies and measurement.
  • Turn customer and market understanding into plans that lift marketing performance and customer outcomes, making sure budget and team time are spent where they count most.
  • Advise key stakeholders, including functional leadership and senior management, on how decisions affect their own and neighbouring areas.
  • Assess and manage risk, supporting the control and governance agenda and strengthening controls within your team's work.
  • Understand how the company's functions fit together so you can help it reach its goals.
  • Use in-depth analysis and interpretive thinking to define problems and develop new solutions, weighing complex options.
  • Build trusted partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, using influence and negotiation to achieve business objectives.
  • If you manage a team: define roles, plan for the department's future needs, coach performance, input on pay decisions, and balance short and long term goals within budgets and schedules.
  • If you lead people: listen and stay genuine, energise and inspire others, coordinate efforts across the whole organisation, and develop your people.
  • If you are an individual contributor: act as the subject matter expert in your discipline, guide technical direction, lead multi-year collaborative work, bring in other specialisms, coach less experienced specialists, and flag issues affecting long term profit, risk and strategy.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in at least one of Media or Marketing Mix Modelling (MMM), Multi-Touch Attribution (MTA), or Econometrics Modelling.
  • Strong analytical skills to work through complex data, spot trends and present findings clearly to stakeholders.
  • Experience working closely with a Decision Intelligence team and using the insight to shape strategy.
  • Solid understanding of the marketing landscape, gained through working in a marketing function.
  • Proficient in Excel, able to manage and analyse large data sets effectively.
  • Skilled at managing relationships with external agencies and confident engaging senior stakeholders to influence decisions.
  • Highly valued, not required: experience working within financial services.

Conditions

The role is based in the company's UK business, within Planning and Operations.
