Description

The company is building the operating system for modern Finance, with global teams working across regions and time zones.

This role leads the design, development, and ongoing evolution of the platform, along with browser engineering teams that build and improve web-based user experiences.

The role combines hands-on technical depth with leading people and growing a team.

The platform involves OLAP, multi-dimensional processing, distributed systems, web technologies, and SQL-based architectures, and supports the Office of the CFO at large global enterprises.

You will work on systems that must be scalable, fast, and reliable, and you will stay involved in architecture decisions, question technical choices, and raise engineering quality.

Responsibilities

  • Own platform components from architecture and development through release and optimization.
  • Lead technical design across distributed, multi-threaded, and web-based systems.
  • Stay close to the work through design reviews, debugging, and hard technical problems.
  • Set and enforce standards for code quality, testing, performance, and maintainability.
  • Find and remove technical and organizational blockers to speed up delivery.
  • Lead AI enablement across engineering, including adopting AI-assisted development tools and building AI-driven platform features.
  • Work with data and AI teams to bring models, APIs, and intelligent workflows into the platform.
  • Set practices for responsible AI use covering security, governance, and data privacy.
  • Train teams on modern development methods and AI tools, and measure the effect on productivity and quality.
  • Own roadmap delivery, including timelines, quality, and outcomes.
  • Weigh speed against stability and make sound trade-offs to meet business and technical goals.
  • Ensure observability, monitoring, performance tuning, and operational excellence for the platform.
  • Improve continuously using metrics, retrospectives, and postmortems, keeping work aligned with scalability, reliability, and security standards.
  • Work closely with Product Management, Architecture, and other engineering teams.
  • Explain technical direction, risks, and progress clearly to stakeholders and executives.
  • Shape platform strategy and technology investment decisions.
  • Build, lead, and grow high-performing engineering teams.
  • Coach and mentor engineers and emerging leaders to support their growth.
  • Set clear expectations, hold people accountable, and lead hiring, onboarding, and career development.
  • Build a culture of ownership, new ideas, and ongoing learning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience on complex, distributed systems.
  • 5+ years leading engineering teams.
  • Preferred: experience managing managers.
  • Strong background in web technologies, backend systems, and scalable architectures.
  • Experience delivering enterprise-grade platforms or SaaS products.
  • Track record of driving technical and organizational change.
  • Experience introducing AI enablement into engineering teams or products.
  • Preferred: experience with financial platforms, CPM/EPM, or enterprise analytics systems.
  • Preferred: familiarity with AI/ML integration, modern developer tooling, and automation frameworks.
  • Preferred: experience with high-performance, data-intensive applications.
  • Preferred: prior experience with the company's product.
  • Sound technical judgment and the ability to challenge and improve engineering decisions.
  • Proven record of leading and scaling high-performing engineering teams.
  • Able to perform well in complex, fast-moving settings with competing priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving and systems-thinking skills.
  • Clear and confident communicator with both technical and executive audiences.
  • Decisive, with a strong drive to act and deliver.
  • Good at analyzing technical problems, leading discussions, and shaping outcomes.
  • Collaborative, with strong listening skills and the ability to align diverse stakeholders.
  • High integrity and credibility, building trust and a strong team culture.
