Software Engineer I

Description

The company makes a Corporate Performance Management (CPM) platform for large enterprises, built to handle complex financial, operational, and analytical work for the Office of the CFO in highly regulated industries.

The product runs at enterprise scale on mission-critical workloads and uses distributed, multi-threaded services, OLAP and multidimensional data models, modern web frameworks, and SQL-based storage.

The platform is moving toward cloud-native, SaaS-style architecture on Microsoft Azure.

As a Software Engineer you will build and maintain software components, taking features from design through release and support under the guidance of senior engineers.

You will work with senior engineers, Product, and QA on UIs, APIs, and data access logic, and you will help investigate defects and production issues.

Success is judged by code quality, reliability, how quickly you learn, and your ability to deliver well-scoped features safely and on schedule.

Teams are spread across continents and time zones.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and maintain high-quality software components for the company solutions.
• Implement features with established design patterns and best practices, following guidance from senior engineers.
• Build UI work in Angular, React, or Blazor.
• Develop and connect APIs and services that follow RESTful standards.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code with suitable unit test coverage.
• Use AI-assisted tools for development, refactoring, test writing, and documentation, and check the output for correctness, security, and fit with the architecture.
• Take part in peer code reviews to raise code quality and consistency.
• Help diagnose, debug, and fix defects in development and test environments.
• Work with Product, QA, and other engineers to deliver features that meet functional and quality expectations.
• Follow the SDLC, security, and compliance protocols.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2, 4 years of professional software development experience.
• Experience with object-oriented programming and the Microsoft stack, including C,.NET, and ASP.NET.
• Basic experience with UI frameworks such as Angular, React, Blazor, and WPF.
• Familiarity with JSON and XML.
• Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL fundamentals.
• Experience with Git and taking part in CI/CD workflows.
• Ability to write and review unit tests.
• Solid grasp of software development fundamentals and object-oriented design.
• Quick to pick up new technologies and frameworks.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Clear written and spoken communication.
• Works well in a team.
• Careful about detail and code quality.
• Preferred: experience building enterprise or platform-oriented applications.
• Preferred: familiarity with cloud-hosted or SaaS systems.
• Preferred: introductory experience with automated testing.
• Preferred: Azure Fundamentals or entry-level Azure certification.
• Preferred: familiarity with tools such as Cursor and Claude Code.

Conditions

This is a remote role.

No supervisory responsibilities.

Regular travel is not expected.

Total compensation depends on experience, skills, and location, assessed using objective, job-related criteria.

Gross annual base salary: €49.000 - €64.000 EUR.

You must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the country where the role is based, without sponsorship.
