React Frontend Engineer

Description

The company was founded in Switzerland in 1968 and is owned by its partners. It has offices across Europe and Asia and works as a global transformation partner with a strong engineering focus.

Its multidisciplinary teams work on tech strategy, business innovation, digital solutions and applications, and device and systems engineering, often in regulated fields such as health and finance.

This role is for a frontend developer who builds modern, high-performance web applications with React and Next.js, with a focus on clean architecture, usability and maintainability.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain frontend applications with React and Next.js.
• Write clean, well-organised, type-safe code in TypeScript.
• Create responsive, accessible interfaces using MUI (Material UI).
• Work with designers to turn UI and UX designs into working code.
• Connect frontend applications to backend APIs.
• Work on containerised applications and their deployments in Kubernetes.
• Review code and help set best practices.
• Improve the performance, scalability and usability of applications.

Requirements

• Strong practical experience with React and Next.js.
• Solid working knowledge of TypeScript.
• Experience with MUI (Material UI) or similar component libraries.
• Basic understanding of Kubernetes and cloud-native environments.
• Comfort with current frontend tools and workflows.
• Experience with REST or GraphQL APIs.
• Good command of HTML, CSS and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Working knowledge of Docker and containerised environments.
• Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest, Playwright or Cypress.
• Understanding of performance optimisation and SEO in Next.js.
