Senior Java Software Engineer with Angular

Description

The company is a technology firm headquartered in Cluj-Napoca with offices in Oradea. It has about 20 years of experience and more than 1,200 IT professionals, and works with major clients in Retail, Manufacturing, Finance, and Banking, covering their work from ideation and requirements through software development and managed services.

The role is a senior backend position in Java with Angular on the front end, working with the company's tech teams on customer-facing products.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Java backend applications and microservices, with attention to performance and reliability.
• Write clean, tested code and apply performance optimization practices.
• Work with DevOps to containerize and deploy applications and set up CI/CD pipelines.
• Use events to build asynchronous, decoupled services that scale.
• Design and maintain relational database integrations that keep data consistent and the system responsive.
• Take part in architecture discussions, review code, and promote good engineering practices.
• Use AI code companions and development tools to work faster and keep code quality high as practices evolve.
• Guide junior developers and help build a collaborative culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of backend development experience in Java 8 or later.
• Strong skills in Spring Boot and the wider Spring ecosystem.
• Strong skills in Angular 19.
• Hands-on experience designing and building RESTful microservices.
• Ability to write optimized SQL and work with databases.
• Working knowledge of Apache Kafka or a similar messaging platform.
• Solid understanding of asynchronous programming, message-driven systems, and distributed systems.
• Good understanding of Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with Jenkins or similar CI/CD tools for automated builds and deployments.
• Experience with Git and Agile practices.
• Regular use of AI tools to boost productivity, automate repetitive work, support decisions, and improve output quality.
• Use AI tools responsibly: write effective prompts, critically check outputs, understand their limits, and own the final result.
• Strong English communication. German is a plus.
• Experience with any cloud platform such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
• Familiarity with tuning and monitoring Java applications for performance.
• Knowledge of security best practices in backend development.
• Experience with Node.js and kf-theme, material-ui.
