Description

You will sit in the R&D Ops team as Sr. Manager, Launch Readiness, working with Product, Engineering and GTM teams to set up one repeatable, scalable way to move products from readiness to launch.

You will lead a team and report to the Sr. Director, R&D and Ops.

The role calls for someone who can create a process from nothing rather than run one that already exists. You need a solid grasp of operational readiness and experience working closely with GTM groups such as Marketing, Sales, Technical Resources, Professional Services and Support.

Experience in global, cross-functional, collaborative settings is the base for this fast-moving, high-impact job, ideally in a product organization.

The company builds customer and employee experience software used by over 72,000 companies, with over 4,500 employees worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Build, own and scale the launch readiness process from start to finish, creating the framework, milestones and governance that do not exist yet and turning them into an org-wide operating model.
  • Lead and grow a team, setting its direction and shaping its structure and responsibilities.
  • Work with business owners to assess needs quickly, outline options, and turn requirements into deliverables and timelines.
  • Build detailed plans that cover requirements, constraints, dependencies and resources across cross-functional readiness work.
  • Deliver against milestones and goals while controlling scope, schedule and quality, and keep execution fast.
  • Operate within a matrixed organization across cross-functional teams to carry out the plan.
  • Gather and present program and project status to stakeholders and leadership, up to executive and board level.
  • Use change management methods to get the launch process adopted across the organization as the standard way of working.
  • Use AI and automation to scale the process and simplify reporting, cutting manual work.
  • Manage risk early, working with colleagues so decisions land at the right time and plans adapt as goals change.

Requirements

  • 8-10 years of experience in operations and program or project management, with the capacity to build a team and develop its people.
  • Proven record of standing up a new process or program from scratch, plus business change management experience.
  • Self-starter who handles ambiguity well and clears obstacles with resourceful, creative problem solving.
  • Able to work independently and effectively with only high-level direction.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, adjusting between individual contributors and executives, and between technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Careful with detail, yet able to boil large amounts of information down to the essentials.
  • Strong people skills to motivate and align direct reports and cross-functional partners, including those outside your reporting line.
  • Skilled at negotiation, conflict management and resolution, driving teams to agreement diplomatically.
  • High energy, positive attitude and adaptability as business needs change.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
  • MBA or equivalent strongly preferred.

Conditions

Hybrid role with onsite expectations of 3 days per week, Tuesday to Thursday, from the San Mateo, CA headquarters.

Quarterly travel to India, which is optional.

Annual base salary range is $203,000 to $251,000.

Role is eligible for a target bonus.

Pay depends on factors including location, experience, job-related skills and level.

The company is committed to equal opportunity and welcomes people of all backgrounds.

Benefits

  • Multiple options for dental, medical, vision, disability and life insurance.
  • Equity and an employee stock purchase plan (ESPP).
