Description

The company is a global AI-first digital transformation and engineering partner with over 25 years of experience, about 5,000 professionals and presence in 16 countries.

It works on AI, data and cloud, intelligent automation and digital products. The CEE team of nearly 1,000 experts builds applications, data platforms and AI solutions for large clients, using AWS, Azure, GCP, Databricks and Snowflake.

The role is on a large, complex legacy Java application that the team is moving forward.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a mature Java application that follows established architectural patterns.
  • Work through a large legacy codebase and improve its structure and maintainability step by step.
  • Review existing solutions, find weak spots, and make changes where they add real value.
  • Build new features without compromising the stability of current functionality.
  • Diagnose and fix problems across different parts of the application.
  • Take part in code reviews and testing, and help keep engineering standards high.
  • Work with other developers in a Scrum-like setup.
  • Shape the technical direction of the application and help the legacy system evolve.

Requirements

  • Senior-level Java development experience.
  • Proven work on large or legacy codebases.
  • Ability to learn complex existing systems quickly and work within established architecture.
  • Hands-on use of AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot or Cursor to improve productivity, quality or decisions in software delivery.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a practical approach to improving existing solutions.
  • Confidence to change mature applications and take ownership of hard technical problems.
  • Willingness to work with legacy technology and improve it rather than just keep it running.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • English at B2 level or higher.
  • Structured use of GenAI across the software development lifecycle, such as defined workflows, prompt patterns or tools built into daily work.
  • Interest in emerging AI practices such as agent-based workflows, automation patterns and AI-augmented development, and willingness to experiment beyond standard approaches.
