Description

As a senior full stack Java engineer, you will build enterprise applications for the company's technology platforms, covering both front end and back end to deliver reliable, high-performing software. The role sits in the Technology job family, under Applications Development.

Based in Tampa, Florida, you will join an agile team that ships production code, helps shape the software architecture, and uses AI-assisted development tools to move faster. You can influence technical direction and take part in a wide developer community across the company.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain full stack Java applications for large-scale business systems, using Spring Boot, React, and Oracle.
  • Write clean code with thorough tests, and pair with other engineers to hit sprint goals.
  • Break acceptance criteria into parts so scope, complexity, and risk are clear for each backlog item.
  • Design and build REST and GraphQL APIs that connect microservices and support cloud-native development.
  • Package applications in Docker containers and manage services with Kubernetes for more dependable deployments.
  • Use AI tools such as GitHub Copilot to speed up coding and raise code quality.
  • Find the root causes of performance and coding problems, and deliver fixes that last.
  • Help define technical and team standards with technical leadership.

Requirements

  • Have at least 5 years of software development experience in Java, Spring Boot, and Oracle.
  • Understand data structures and object-oriented design principles, applied in Java.
  • Design microservices and event-driven systems using frameworks such as Spring Boot.
  • Build user interfaces with a JavaScript framework such as React, using HTML5 and CSS.
  • Write and optimize SQL and PL/SQL queries against Oracle relational databases.
  • Use CI/CD tools such as Maven, Gradle, Docker, and Jenkins to build and deploy code.
  • Hold a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
  • Beneficial: build front ends with Angular as an alternative to React.
  • Beneficial: have exposure to artificial intelligence and generative AI tools that improve development workflows.
  • Beneficial: deploy and manage applications on AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Beneficial: use JIRA and GitHub Enterprise for agile work and version control.
  • Beneficial: automate unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.

Conditions

This is a full-time position.

Hybrid schedule: 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.
