Description

The company runs a restaurant booking platform used by millions of diners and over 70,000 restaurant partners, and has been operating for more than 25 years. It is part of Booking Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: BKNG).

The Blog Team builds and maintains the technology behind the company's B2B and B2C blogs. It is a small, distributed team based in Toronto and Lithuania.

The platform is being reworked so the business can launch content and landing pages faster, publish useful material for restaurant owners, and keep every page aligned with brand guidelines. The team works closely with design, content, marketing and engineering and is building a stronger base for AI-assisted content workflows.

In this role you will own the CMS and web platform, which runs on WordPress, PHP and Apache and extends to modern frontend tools and delivery systems such as DNS, caching and CDN. You will work with design and B2B partners to build reusable content and landing-page features, improving performance, reliability, maintainability and the experience for developers and content authors. You will help the stack keep pace with the marketing team's changing needs, use AI to speed up work, and assess whether alternative CMS platforms, headless setups or no-code tools would suit the business at enterprise scale.

Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of the CMS and web platform, from discovery through delivery.
  • Build reusable content and landing-page capabilities together with design and B2B partners.
  • Improve performance, reliability and maintainability of the platform and the tools used by developers and content authors.
  • Evolve the systems with AI, and build scalable, high-impact products.
  • Evaluate alternative CMS, headless and no-code options for the business.
  • Work with non-technical stakeholders and marketing where helpful.
  • Use the dedicated time each sprint to experiment, learn and try new approaches.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience with WordPress or an equivalent CMS.
  • Strong full-stack experience building and running production web platforms.
  • Strong experience with modern frontend technologies.
  • Experience across frontend and backend systems, APIs and integrations.
  • A solid grasp of the web and network stack, including DNS, HTTP, caching, CDN behavior, performance and reliability.
  • Experience designing reusable, maintainable components for content-rich digital experiences.
  • A record of working closely with design, product, content or marketing partners to turn requirements and brand guidelines into scalable solutions.
  • The ability to weigh technical trade-offs, improve existing systems pragmatically, and take work from discovery to delivery.
  • Fluent English and strong communication skills.
  • Preferred: experience running WordPress, PHP and Apache in production.
  • Preferred: experience with Akamai or another enterprise CDN and edge platform.
  • Preferred: experience with several CMS platforms, including headless or hybrid architectures.
  • Preferred: experience evaluating or delivering CMS migrations and platform modernization.
  • Preferred: experience with no-code or low-code tools at enterprise scale, including their governance and operational trade-offs.
  • Preferred: familiarity with AI-assisted content workflows and structured content.
  • Preferred: experience building B2B marketing sites, campaign pages or reusable landing-page systems.
  • Preferred: understanding of SEO, generative engine optimization, accessibility and web performance.
  • You do not need to know everything on day one; curiosity and a drive to keep improving matter.
