Senior Full Stack Engineer

Description

The company is a group of engineers, designers and product strategists that modernizes existing systems, builds new products and recovers projects that are off track.

Clients bring the team their hardest problems, and the work is delivered using cloud-native and AI-enabled tools alongside Agile, Lean and design thinking, aiming to get it right on the first attempt.

Much of the work is in regulated sectors such as healthcare, financial services, government and education, including disease detection, identifying children who need educational support, AI for legal settlement work, and access to mental health services.

Responsibilities

• Take a leading role across the full software lifecycle, from early concept design through deployment and ongoing monitoring.
• Build reliable, scalable and cost-efficient backend services in Python on AWS, using Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, DynamoDB, SQS and EventBridge.
• Design event-sourced systems and event-driven pipelines that keep a complete state history, provide auditability, and handle message processing with idempotency and eventual consistency.
• Work with product managers and designers to turn requirements into technical designs and code that can be shipped.
• Apply security, logging and monitoring practices, and manage infrastructure as code with Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Review code thoroughly, mentor junior and mid-level engineers, and raise technical standards across the team.
• Research and adopt new technologies and patterns, aiming to improve development speed and system performance.
• Form and communicate a clear view on how to bring AI tools into the software development lifecycle safely, securely and ethically.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional full-stack development experience.
• Expert Python for backend work, including Django.
• Strong working knowledge of Vue.js and TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience designing, deploying and maintaining serverless applications, ideally on AWS Lambda, API Gateway and other managed services.
• Proficiency in SQL, ideally PostgreSQL.
• Solid grasp of event sourcing and event-driven architecture, with experience using message brokers or streaming services such as SQS, SNS, EventBridge or Kinesis.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and infrastructure as code.
• Proven, practical use of AI coding tools that delivered measurable productivity gains, along with a clear grasp of the risks such as code quality, security and intellectual property, and how to manage them.
• Experience with advanced AWS services such as Step Functions, Kinesis or SageMaker.
• Experience working in a regulated or compliance-focused environment.
• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or a related technical field.
• During interviews, be ready to give specific examples of AI tools you have used in professional or personal work, describe your preferred agentic tool setup, explain the current technical, ethical and accuracy limits of AI tools in engineering, explain where AI opens new opportunities such as moving effort from boilerplate to architecture and hard problems, and explain how your own role has changed with AI and how you expect it to keep changing.
