Responsibilities
Lead offline editing for broadcast, digital, social, branded content and integrated campaigns, from initial assembly through creative approval and delivery.
Cut work across many formats and lengths, from short social pieces to:06,:15,:30 and longer stories, and shape the story, performance, pacing and structure rather than only following the brief.
Work with Producers, Creatives, Account teams and brand stakeholders, joining pre-production conversations where useful to flag editorial needs, coverage, post considerations and efficiencies early.
Run supervised edit sessions, handling feedback and proposing edit solutions on the spot, whether working alone, with a Creative team or with internal and brand stakeholders.
Build motion graphics as part of everyday editing, including supers, typography, transitions, end cards, graphic treatments and other motion elements needed to finish an edit.
Do light colour correction and grading where appropriate, and bring in external partners for more advanced colour and finishing.
Manage multiple edits, versions, aspect ratios, formats and deliverables across projects of different sizes and complexity.
Adapt work to broadcast, social and digital specifications, including short cutdowns and platform-specific versions.
Search stock music and give creatives and creative directors a point of view on music direction.
Work with external post partners on motion design, animation, VFX, colour, audio and finishing when a project needs extra specialist skills.
Keep project files, media, working assets and archives organised for the full life of each project.
Run editorial QC and prepare final files for review, approval and delivery, checking picture, audio, graphics, supers, aspect ratios, versions and technical specs.
Work within established post workflows and help build out the in-house editorial capability, including knowledge sharing and editorial standards.
Use collaborative review platforms such as Frame.io and work across in-person and remote post workflows.
Have experience submitting or uploading broadcast deliverables through Extreme Reach.
Requirements
At least 7 years of professional editing experience in an agency, in-house agency, production company or post-production setting, with agency or in-house experience preferred.
A strong reel or portfolio that shows editing craft, creative thinking and polished finished work.
Proven experience on food, beverage and/or food-adjacent advertising and content.
Extensive experience with professional NLE systems and current post-production workflows.
Advanced skill in Adobe Premiere Pro and comfort across the wider Adobe Creative Suite.
Strong After Effects skills, enough to design, build and deliver the motion graphics that everyday advertising work needs without help.
Working knowledge of Photoshop and an understanding of how design assets move between creative and editorial teams.
Experience with DaVinci Resolve or Baselight, which is an asset.
Ability to do light colour correction and grading, and to recognise when work should move to a dedicated colourist or finishing partner.
Experience with advanced 2D or 3D animation, which is a significant plus but not required.
Solid understanding of media management, codecs, formats, versioning and conforming, and of preparing projects for colour, VFX, audio and online finishing.
Experience working directly with Creative, Production and Account teams and with clients or brand stakeholders.
Strong creative instincts, with the ability to read feedback, contribute ideas and recommend editorial solutions.
Able to work independently while juggling competing priorities, tight timelines and several stakeholders.
Organised, detail-focused, collaborative and calm in a fast-moving production setting.
Able to take ownership of a project from first assembly to approval, spotting creative and technical needs without waiting for direction at each stage.
