Responsibilities

  • Build and run scalable cloud and hybrid infrastructure with tools such as Terraform, Ansible or CloudFormation.
  • Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines, for example in Azure DevOps or GitHub, so releases are quick, safe and dependable.
  • Set up and manage Docker containers and container services such as Amazon ECS, Amazon EKS or Azure AKS for microservices.
  • Put in place thorough logging, monitoring and alerting with tools such as Dynatrace, Elastic, Grafana, AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor or ScienceLogic, keeping systems available and catching problems early.
  • Build and maintain pipelines that run security scans and manage vulnerabilities.
  • Lead automated provisioning, patching and version upgrades for cloud databases and containerized applications, protecting availability, security and performance.
  • Look after application configuration, secrets and certificates.
  • Work with software engineering, security and product teams to build a DevOps culture, giving technical direction and mentoring junior engineers.
  • Rapidly prototype, test and deploy new AI models, Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers and proofs of concept to judge feasibility and speed up innovation.
  • Take on special projects and initiatives as assigned.

Requirements

  • Hold a master's degree in computer science from an accredited college or university, plus 3 years of progressively more responsible, full-time, satisfactory IT experience such as applications or systems development, data communications and networking, database administration, data processing or user services, with at least 18 months in management, executive or administrative positions in those areas or supervising staff doing that work.
  • Or hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, plus 4 years of the same kind of experience described above.
  • Or hold a 4-year high school diploma or equivalent, plus 6 years of that experience.
  • Or have an equivalent mix of education and experience to the options above. In every case you need at least a 4-year high school diploma or equivalent and 3 years of that experience, including 18 months in an administrative, managerial, executive or supervisory role.
  • Without a bachelor's degree, undergraduate credits can count toward up to 2 years of IT experience, at 30 semester credits per 6 months. Graduate computer science credits can count toward up to 1 year, at 30 graduate semester credits per year. Undergraduate or graduate credits cannot replace the 18 months of administrative, managerial, executive or supervisory experience.
