Junior Cloud DevOps Engineer – Azure Based

Description

The company is a large professional services firm. This role sits in its global DevOps team that supports audit applications.

The team works across Utrecht, the USA, China, Malaysia and India, and the platform is used by thousands of developers.

The team's aim is to help clients keep applications available and running smoothly on Azure, using DevOps practices, tooling and processes for fast development, delivery and automated quality checks.

Responsibilities

• Build out solutions designed by cloud architects, solution architects and senior DevOps engineers, working from their written instructions.
• Suggest ways to keep improving the DevOps services the team provides.
• Write up the processes and tasks you learn so the team can standardise them and cross-train each other.
• Help make systems more reliable, secure and observable, and run operations well.
• Find the root cause of incidents and fix them.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering or site reliability engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Git, CI/CD and infrastructure as code using ARM and Bicep.
• Experience building and maintaining Azure IaaS components: virtual machines, storage and networking.
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining Azure PaaS components such as App Services, Function Apps, Application Gateways and Load Balancers.
• Understanding of containerisation with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Solid knowledge of observability, reliability and security.
• A structured, service-oriented way of working and strong communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-changing environment with quick technology shifts and complex client requirements.
• Nice to have: Azure certification, AZ-900 or AZ-104.

Conditions

Based in the Utrecht office, with 1 to 2 days per week on site at a company office.

You work with colleagues in the USA, China, Malaysia and India.
