Manager Engineering Strategy

Description

The role is a Manager position in the Engineering, AI & Data practice, where you lead strategic and commercial growth of AI and data offerings.

You find and shape opportunities, write proposals, and turn them into engagements that make a real difference.

You prepare the ground for technology experts and software engineers to take on work in platform and product strategy, design and architecture.

You run transformation programmes covering enterprise data platforms, AI, cloud and emerging technologies.

You help clients build Engineering, AI and Data blueprints and roadmaps.

You own projects from first vision through implementation and adoption.

You inspire, coach and grow multidisciplinary project teams, and help build a learning environment with ongoing development.

You work with Talent teams to hire, develop and keep strong people, and champion a high-performance culture built on collaboration and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic and commercial growth of AI and data offerings.
• Identify opportunities, shape them into proposals, and convert them into engagements.
• Open the way for technology experts and software engineers to start work on platform and product strategy, design and architecture.
• Run transformation programmes on enterprise data platforms, AI, cloud and emerging technologies.
• Guide clients in building Engineering, AI and Data blueprints and roadmaps.
• Manage the full project lifecycle, from early visioning through implementation and adoption.
• Coach and develop multidisciplinary project teams, and foster a learning environment.
• Work with Talent teams to attract, develop and retain strong people.
• Build a high-performance culture grounded in collaboration and integrity.

Requirements

• You have 7+ years as a software engineer and solution architect on complex, enterprise-grade systems.
• You have worked on projects as a Product Owner, Product Manager, Scrum Master or Tech Lead.
• You have a record of shaping and delivering large Engineering, Cloud, AI and Data transformations from start to finish.
• You have advised senior executives and acted as their strategic partner.
• You have a real passion for technology, with broad knowledge and strong depth in key areas.
• You can turn complex technical topics into clear, actionable insights.
• You have hands-on experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure and GCP, and with cloud-native designs such as microservices, serverless and Kubernetes.
• You have worked with data and AI platforms such as Databricks and Snowflake, real-time streaming tools such as Kafka and Airflow, and MLOps.
• You have worked with generative AI and advanced analytics, including LLMs, prompt engineering, AI orchestration and responsible AI.
• You have experience with integration and APIs, including event-driven architecture and API management.
• You have experience with DevOps and platform engineering, including CI/CD, infrastructure as code and observability.
• You have experience with on-premise infrastructure and open source tools.
• You hold or have worked toward networking credentials such as CCST, CCNA, CCNP or CCIE, etc.
• You have a strong commercial mindset and can spot opportunities, shape value propositions and build long-term client relationships.
• You communicate well, lead by inspiring teams, and align diverse stakeholders.
• You have a proven ability to work through complex stakeholder environments across business and IT.
• You are a self-starter who can build a business.
