This is a hands-on role in the Network Infrastructure Engineer team, which covers compute and network setup for on-site test environments and remote customer sites.

You will join a multi-disciplinary team and work alongside robotics, systems engineering and test colleagues as well as your own established group.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy finalised designs at customer sites across server racks, segregated factory networks, industrial workstation connections and remote monitoring.
  • Act as the go-to expert for choosing and scaling infrastructure to suit each installation.

Requirements

  • A solid background in designing, implementing and deploying platform infrastructure, both in-house and at remote sites.

  • Essential: install Linux and Windows, and configure remote deployment tools on bare-metal industrial and embedded PCs.
  • Essential: support customers and maintain systems proactively, telling the right stakeholders early and clearly about equipment needs, reconfiguration, repairs and emerging risks.
  • Desirable: interest in or experience with robotic automation, industrial or embedded PCs, or factory installations.
  • Desirable: experience with Ubiquiti equipment.
  • Desirable: experience monitoring the health and capacity of network and compute to keep factory operations reliable, and diagnosing hardware failures, misconfiguration and capacity limits.
  • Desirable: experience keeping network architecture, rack layouts, cabling and wiring documentation and diagrams up to date.
  • Desirable: experience selecting and buying server hardware, switches, routers, cabling and UPS systems for different projects.
  • Desirable: a degree or vocational qualification in Computer Engineering, Networking, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Desirable: 3 years in network, infrastructure or industrial IT roles.
