Senior Design Execution Project Manager

Description

The company runs design work for Hyperscale Data Center construction and other projects for a large technology client.

The role acts as the client's agent, consultant, advisor and authorized owner's representative across all design phases and design fields, until the design is handed to the client's construction team.

Most of the work is managing, coordinating and administering the design consultants the client uses.

You take the program-level Plan of Record and localize the design.

The ideal candidate is comfortable running large design coordination meetings across several design subject areas, including page-turn design meetings.

This is a remote position with travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Run planning and kickoff workshops with internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead design reviews together with external partners.
• Run large-scale workshops when needed.
• Write scopes of work for contracts and secure buy-in from internal stakeholders.
• Issue and manage contracts.
• Define and track deliverables from all parties.
• Track cost, schedule, progress and scope.
• Report on the health of cost, schedule, scope and progress.
• Assemble effective design teams from matrixed internal stakeholders and strategically procure external partners.
• Manage change to project scope and design contracts.
• Drive technical decisions that meet project needs.
• Coordinate design work with procurement and construction.
• Communicate clearly and openly with all internal stakeholders and external partners.
• Make sure engineering information reaches the right party, at the right time, in the right format.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture or a related field.
• Professional licensure (PE, NCARB or RA) is strongly preferred, or more than 10 years of significant professional experience may be substituted.
• Prior experience with data center design and/or construction is preferred.
• A strong understanding of construction principles and practices.
• Experience preparing project plans and specifications.
• Experience drafting scopes of work.
• Experience with government regulations.
• Experience managing multiple projects at the same time.
• A working understanding of AutoCAD, needed for drawing reviews and mark-ups.
• SOX control responsibilities may be part of the role and must be followed where they apply.
