Description

The company is a digital financial services business offering point-of-sale credit and digital payments in Australia and New Zealand and the US, with millions of customers and tens of thousands of merchants.

The company is listed on the Australian Securities Exchange and runs on a set of values covering customers, ownership, teamwork and change.

This role sits in the data analytics team and covers new financial products beyond the core buy now, pay later offering.

You will be the senior analytics voice for that growth area, working with Product, Finance, Risk and Operations leaders.

Work runs from launch through growth for products that have no established playbook yet, and the questions are often still unclear.

You will create structure from incomplete or conflicting signals and turn them into recommendations on product strategy, risk appetite and go to market decisions.

The role is remote-first for US-based employees, with the option to work in person at the Manhattan office.

Responsibilities

  • Own analytics end to end for new product lines, from opportunity sizing and launch readiness through post-launch performance and iteration.
  • Work with Product, Risk and Finance leaders to set success metrics, build reporting frameworks and create analytical infrastructure for products new to the portfolio.
  • Map the customer funnel and lifecycle for new financial products, covering eligibility, application, approval, repayment and retention, and find the levers that drive healthy unit economics.
  • Study customer overlap, cross product adoption and portfolio diversification to show how new product verticals complement or extend the existing BNPL customer base.
  • Build market sizing, segmentation and opportunity analyses that guide where and how the company should invest in new product growth.
  • Design, build and govern reusable data models, shared metrics and analytical methods for new product categories where definitions must be created from scratch.
  • Combine behavioral, financial and risk data into forward-looking views of product health and customer outcomes.
  • Set and promote standards for dbt modeling, SQL performance and analytical code quality as the new product analytics foundation takes shape.
  • Advise VP and executive stakeholders with concise narratives that link insights to product strategy, financial impact, risk trade-offs and growth.
  • Align Product, Finance, Risk and Operations on metrics, definitions and analytical approaches, and escalate material decisions to leadership.
  • Raise the analytical standard across the team through mentoring, knowledge sharing and careful review of analysis and outputs.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years in data analytics, product analytics, business intelligence or a related analytical field, including work in highly complex or ambiguous settings.
  • Deep SQL skills and a track record of designing efficient analysis across large, complex datasets.
  • Advanced dbt and data modeling experience, including building scalable, reusable models and trusted analytical foundations.
  • Advanced Tableau or comparable BI platform experience, and experience building scalable reporting and visualization.
  • Experience in fintech, consumer lending or financial services analytics is highly valued, and an understanding of customer credit, repayment behavior and product risk is a plus.
  • Proven record of leading complex, ambiguous analytical work from problem definition through recommendation and business impact, ideally including new product launches or 0-to-1 analytics builds.
  • Experience advising senior leaders and shaping strategic decisions with clear, evidence-based recommendations.
  • Strong business sense for linking product analytics to revenue, unit economics, retention and risk across a diversified portfolio.
  • Experience setting analytical standards, shared metrics or reusable frameworks that improve consistency and scale across teams.
  • Experience applying AI-enabled tools and emerging technology to analytics workflows, automation or self-service.
  • Ability to mentor analysts and strengthen technical and problem-solving practice across a team.
