Senior Product Designer I

Description

You will own design for the repayments side of the platform on app and web, covering how customers buy, spread payments over installments and manage what they owe.

The work centres on using AI tools carefully and shaping how the team uses them to research, prototype, test, release and grow product experiences.

You will work alongside Product, Engineering, Data, Risk and Compliance to keep AI use responsible and practical from discovery through to delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of product changes to repayments across app and web.
• Use approved AI tools to speed up research synthesis, ideation and validation, and redesign your workflows around them.
• Build repeatable AI-assisted frameworks for quick prototyping and experiments.
• Support AI-led discovery by generating insights and forming hypotheses.
• Use AI for pattern detection and signal extraction to measure design impact.
• Bring AI into cross-squad work so scoping moves faster and trade-offs are clearer.
• Explore many design directions quickly with AI tools, then explain the trade-offs.
• Find where AI cuts manual effort in documentation, edge-case mapping and systems thinking.
• Build scalable processes within responsible AI-use frameworks in a regulated financial setting.
• Document complex journeys and systems, and bring others into AI-enabled workflows.
• Join roadmapping so AI-driven efficiencies are built into delivery plans.
• Use AI to analyse post-launch feedback and find improvement opportunities.
• Coach other designers and writers through skill shares and feedback on AI-assisted work.
• Propose and make changes to team culture and rituals that encourage experimentation.
• Shape repayment journeys on mobile and web so they suit customers with different payment habits.
• Design payment rescheduling, early payoff and automated reminders.
• Place AI-driven insights in the repayment interface to surface schedule options and offer personalised financial help.
• Work with Risk, Compliance and Finance so repayment interactions stay clear, compliant and supportive of long-term financial health.

Requirements

• A portfolio that shows systems thinking and measurable impact, not only polished screens.
• 5+ years of designing at scale in product, UX or interaction design.
• Experience on complex, multi-product ecosystems with cross-functional dependencies.
• Ability to place work within long-term product strategy and own execution independently.
• Strong skill in reading metrics and making data-informed decisions.
• Experience running lean experiments and testing hypotheses quickly.
• Comfort exploring many options and explaining trade-offs clearly.
• Experience documenting complex systems and onboarding others well.
• Strong storytelling and presentation skills, with clear, concise writing.
• A clear, predictable design process that partners can rely on.
• Ability to manage your own bandwidth and raise risks early.
• An open mindset to change, with a drive to expand your skills.
• Experience using AI-powered tools well in research, prototyping, documentation or design operations.
• A practical grasp of how your work supports business outcomes and customers' financial well-being.

Conditions

Remote-first for US-based staff, with the option to work in person at the NYC Manhattan office.

Employment is at-will. The company may change base salary and other discretionary pay, compensation or benefits at any time, based on individual or team performance and market factors.

The annual base pay range is $134,000 to $150,000, set by the US national compensation band.

Actual base salary depends on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, location, internal equity and other business factors.

Additional premium percentages may apply under the company's tiered premium approach.
