Description

The company is a mental health brand whose flagship consumer app ranks first in its category, with over 180 million downloads, ten languages and availability in 190 countries.

The app offers sleep, stress and mindfulness content and tools from experts and well-known voices.

A newer offering, sold through employers, health plans and providers, supports mental health and sleep for more than 3,500 organizations and over 42 million covered lives.

The company has been named a TIME100 Most Influential Company and listed among Fast Company's Brands That Matter.

You would join the Consumer team in Product & Design, which delivers the app on web, iOS and Android, keeping it easy to use, aligned with users' goals and high in quality.

People often open the app in hard moments, so how it looks, moves and feels matters a great deal.

The work balances speed and craft to make users healthier and happier and to drive acquisition, engagement and retention. You will work with Product Management, Engineering, Data Science and Marketing, and set the craft standard across iOS, Android and web, while shaping how the design practice grows.

Responsibilities

  • Own full product design projects across the whole experience, including visuals, interaction, motion and brand, to produce thoughtful, high-quality mobile experiences centred on users.
  • Build fast prototypes in Figma and with AI and low-code tools such as Replit, Lovable and Claude, so you can test real ideas with people early.
  • Present your design work clearly to cross-functional partners, including senior leaders, and give and receive feedback, tying your reasoning to user needs and business goals.
  • Stay closely involved through engineering build and QA and after launch, iterating so the final result holds its quality.
  • Use data and research to shape what you design, and use performance results to refine your approach.
  • Improve how the team works and evolve the design system so the whole team moves faster and makes better decisions.
  • Manage several projects at once in a fast-moving setting without lowering the standard of your work.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in UX and UI design, with 5+ years in consumer mobile and web applications.
  • Highly proficient in Figma, and already using AI and low-code tools such as Replit, Lovable and Claude to prototype quickly, with the judgment to tell when output is good enough.
  • Able to ship small code changes without engineering support, including copy and UI polish, to bridge design and engineering.
  • Biased toward shipping and iterating, and more inclined to test a working prototype than to write a document about one.
  • Combine qualitative and quantitative insight in design decisions, and check whether the work achieved its aim.
  • A low-ego, trusted partner to Product, Research and Engineering who helps others improve and sharpens how the team works.
  • Strong advocate for accessibility, consistency, visual storytelling, brand integration and motion design, while keeping pace.
  • Communicates thinking persuasively to stakeholders and senior leaders, gives and receives feedback well, and stays open to being wrong.
  • Proven experience running user testing and research.
  • Strong grounding in interaction design, visual design and usability best practice.
  • Experience designing and shipping mobile applications at scale.
  • Hands-on skill in Figma and current AI and prototyping tools.
  • Able to work independently while contributing to a broader design vision and strategy.
  • Nice to have: experience with conversational or AI-native UX.
  • Nice to have: experience at several organizations, ideally including a consumer product in a fast-paced startup.
  • Nice to have: a strong portfolio showing beautiful, functional and user-friendly experiences that shipped.
  • Nice to have: comfort shipping small copy and UI changes directly in code, without engineering support.
  • Nice to have: a genuine interest in the company's mission and a view on how digital products can support mental health.
