The role supports a growing CMI transportation practice covering Northern Virginia and Washington, DC.

The company is a global infrastructure firm working across water, environment, energy, transportation and buildings, from advisory and design through program and construction management. It reported $16.1 billion in revenue for fiscal 2025, is on the Fortune 500 list and has over 50,000 staff worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the main contact for clients, contractors and stakeholders, building lasting working relationships and high-quality service.
  • Give technical direction on constructability, field engineering problems and construction issues throughout delivery.
  • Use your construction management background to help owners, field staff and multidisciplinary teams solve complex technical and operational problems.
  • Guide, coach and develop engineers, inspectors and technical staff, encouraging teamwork, ownership and career growth.
  • Direct the work of engineers, inspectors and technicians so resources meet project goals.

  • Work with internal teams and outside stakeholders to deliver projects, resolve technical issues and keep communication clear.
  • Make independent decisions on technical and project management matters with little supervision and broad administrative direction.
  • Support business development by spotting opportunities, maintaining client relationships and contributing to proposals and pursuits.
  • Make sure work meets contract terms, applicable regulations, quality standards and company policies.

Requirements

  • Minimum: a bachelor's degree in civil engineering plus 8 years of relevant experience, or demonstrated equivalent experience and/or education.
  • Prior work on VDOT and/or DDOT projects.
  • A PE license in DC, Maryland or Virginia, or the ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity within 6 months of hire.
  • CCM certification.
  • US citizenship, required due to the nature of the work.
  • Preferred: a minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in Construction Management and Inspection (CMI), including experience managing.
