Description

The company Digital is hiring a senior cloud engineer to fill a replacement role on the team.

This is enterprise-scale platform work, not DevOps for one application: you build a platform or self-service system that hundreds of applications and many teams will rely on.

The firm puts its people first and invests in their growth.

Success means acting on integrity, respect and collaboration in all your work.

Clients should see you as positive, professional and focused on high-quality output, and you understand their industry, challenges and opportunities.

You spot needs, recommend options and keep service delivery effective.

You help build an inclusive, engaging team and adopt digital tools that make the workplace more innovative.

You keep building your expertise through learning.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and maintain enterprise cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines with Terraform and GitHub Actions.
  • Create reusable, self-service platform capabilities for hundreds of applications across several engineering teams, rather than one-off solutions for a single team.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of cloud services, including observability, security vulnerability management and role-based access control (RBAC).
  • Take part in the full software development lifecycle, including gathering requirements and holding enterprise architecture discussions with client stakeholders.
  • Keep detailed documentation, planning artifacts and ticket updates so the client can see progress.
  • Work within enterprise governance, security and change-management frameworks as a platform contributor, helping shape and scale cloud capabilities across the organization.

Requirements

  • Hands-on Infrastructure-as-Code experience with Terraform, the top priority for this role.
  • Experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines with GitHub and GitHub Actions.
  • Microsoft Azure as your main cloud platform. GCP or AWS experience is a plus but not required.
  • Python for automation and scripting where Terraform alone is not enough.
  • YAML for CI/CD pipeline configuration.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, PostgreSQL and Azure App Service.
  • Working knowledge of Kubernetes and containerization, with deep Kubernetes expertise needed for at least one team hire.
  • Experience delivering enterprise-scale shared platforms used by many independent application teams, not single-application deployments.
  • Landing-zone and governance experience: multiple subscriptions or accounts, policy-as-code, and tagging and naming standards enforced at scale.
  • Identity and access management at scale, including Azure AD and Entra ID, RBAC, least-privilege design, and governance of service principals and managed identities.
  • Enterprise network design: hub-spoke topology, VNet peering, private endpoints and network segmentation.
  • Security and compliance experience in regulated industries: vulnerability management, threat modeling, audit readiness, and comfort with the change-control rules banks impose on vendors.
  • Observability at scale: centralized logging, monitoring and alerting (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics or equivalent) run to SLA and SLO expectations.
  • Cost governance and FinOps awareness across many consuming teams.
  • Comfort working within formal change management and ITSM, including CAB approvals and disciplined ticketing.
  • Resilience and disaster recovery planning, designing for high availability since platform outages affect many downstream teams.
  • Architecture-level thinking for platform engagements, which the client considers essential at platform scale.
  • Full SDLC fluency, including requirements gathering and enterprise architecture discussions with client stakeholders.
  • Strong written communication: detailed documentation, planning in Excel and thorough ticket updates, since clients expect constant status visibility.
  • Ability to explain technical approach and reasoning in depth, as the client's in-house architects review this work closely.
  • Formal cloud platform experience beyond working knowledge of Azure, GCP or AWS, such as Infrastructure-as-Code or Terraform exposure.
  • Nice-to-have: prior banking or financial services experience.

Conditions

The expected annual pay range for this role is $84,000 - $128,000.

You will work in a blended model across the office, client sites and virtually, with flexibility on when, where and how you work to suit the role.

Accommodation is available on request during the application process, and AI tools may assist recruiters, but people make all hiring decisions.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive benefits from day one.
  • Flexible personal time off.
  • Pay for performance, with competitive total cash compensation that reflects your contribution.
  • Reimbursement for wellness initiatives that fit your lifestyle.
  • Learning and development opportunities across the firm's services, industries and markets.
  • Support for personal goals outside work, plus involvement in local charity initiatives and local and national events.
