Description

The firm is a professional services business that builds its work on trusted relationships with staff and clients. The team is growing and this is a new role focused on helping enterprise clients modernise their technology, including moving legacy systems, infrastructure, applications and data to cloud platforms and adopting new operating models.

You will work on large transformation programmes across a range of industries, alongside cloud architects, platform engineers, business stakeholders and project teams. You will also help shape the migration methods, tools, accelerators and service offerings as the practice expands.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support migrations of applications, infrastructure, databases and data for enterprise clients.
  • Assess current environments and build migration strategies, roadmaps and target-state architectures.
  • Design and carry out migration plans across cloud, hybrid and on-premises environments.
  • Analyse technical dependencies, risks and migration impacts, and develop ways to mitigate them.
  • Work with client stakeholders to set migration requirements, success criteria and implementation approaches.
  • Support cloud adoption on Microsoft Azure, AWS and Google Cloud.
  • Build and maintain migration automation tools, scripts and repeatable deployment processes.
  • Test and validate migrations, tune performance and provide post-migration support.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues during migrations and recommend solutions.
  • Contribute to project planning, status reporting, issue management and stakeholder communication.
  • Support business development through solution design, proposals and client presentations.
  • Mentor junior consultants and help develop migration best practices and standards.
  • Success in this role means delivering migrations on time, in scope and with minimal disruption to the business, and building trusted advisor relationships with clients.
  • Success also means spotting risks, dependencies and improvement opportunities early, sharing knowledge to mature the practice, mentoring colleagues in an inclusive way, keeping your cloud and migration skills current, and identifying further transformation work that adds value for clients.
  • You are expected to live the firm's core values of integrity, respect and collaboration in all your work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years delivering technology migration, modernisation, infrastructure or cloud transformation projects.
  • Experience planning and running migrations of applications, servers, databases, storage or enterprise platforms.
  • Strong understanding of Azure, AWS and/or Google Cloud.
  • Experience with migration tools, automation frameworks and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Knowledge of networking, security, identity management and enterprise architecture.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent client-facing communication and stakeholder management.
  • Experience working in agile and project delivery environments.
  • Nice to have: Azure, AWS or Google Cloud certifications.
  • Nice to have: experience with Microsoft 365, Azure VMware Solution, Active Directory, Exchange, SAP, Oracle, Dynamics 365 or similar enterprise platforms.
  • Nice to have: experience with migration assessment and discovery tools.
  • Nice to have: knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, PowerShell, Python or other automation technologies.
  • Nice to have: consulting or professional services experience.
  • Nice to have: experience leading workstreams or mentoring junior team members.
