Senior Client Solution Architect - Illinois (Remote)

Description

The company wants a senior solution architect to shape technical strategy for high-value opportunities that span several practices.

You own the architecture from first discovery through design checks and moving the deal forward.

You work with Account Executives, Practice Directors, and Principal Architects to build solutions that are cohesive, scalable, and tied to client goals.

You act as a trusted advisor to clients and a mentor to CSAs and engineers, asking sharp questions and shaping decisions rather than leading with products.

Responsibilities

• Run complex discovery sessions across several practices, focused on business outcomes more than on products.
• Own architecture and technical strategy for medium to large opportunities.
• Spot cross-practice opportunities in networking, data center, cloud, security, and platform engineering.
• Drive joined-up architectures and clear delivery paths so every practice stays aligned.
• Work with Account Executives on deal strategy, qualification, and positioning.
• Review solution designs, bills of materials (BOMs), and statements of work (SOWs) with Practice Directors and Principal Architects.
• Serve as the main technical escalation point in late-stage sales.
• Coach CSAs and engineers on solution design, discovery methods, and consultative selling.
• Help build reusable solution patterns, reference architectures, and enablement material.
• Present to clients at senior level in discussions, workshops, and technical briefings.
• Complete ongoing security awareness training and follow company policy.
• Report security risks to the right Executive Leadership Team member and help fix them.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 7, 10 years in solution architecture, pre-sales engineering, or technical consulting.
• A track record of designing and selling complete enterprise solutions across several technical domains.
• Strong consultative discovery skills and experience guiding clients through their decisions.
• Broad technical skill in at least two core the company practice areas.
• Ability to run complex technical sales cycles on your own.
• Relevant OEM certifications are highly preferred.

Conditions

You must be based in the United States and live in Illinois.

Travel of up to 40% may be required.

The base salary range in New York City for this role is $250,000 to $275,000 OTE, which is base salary plus opportunities for bonus and/or commission, under New York City pay transparency rules. Pay in other locations may differ.
