MDC/Platform Architect (Remote)

Description

You will be a senior infrastructure professional who designs data center, virtualization, cloud and networking solutions for clients.

You will work with clients and internal teams to pin down business needs, then recommend and document designs that fit.

The role also supports sales with technical input and demos, and keeps you current on new technology, security demands and ways to improve reliability and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Build scalable, detailed designs covering data centers, virtualization, cloud and advanced networking.
• Produce client proposals, architecture diagrams and statements of work.
• Confirm that designs meet industry standards and compliance obligations.
• Align solutions with business goals and IT standards by working with cross-functional teams.
• Run client discovery sessions, review existing environments and present infrastructure options suited to each client's needs.
• Build lasting client relationships as a trusted technical adviser.
• Provide technical input to sales on proposals, bills of materials and RFP responses.
• Support internal sales enablement through proof-of-concept and proof-of-value work and solution demos.
• Advise across technology areas so that designs are holistic and well optimized.
• Track new technology, favoring tools that improve optimization and automation.
• Deliver reliable, creative solutions that give clients a strong experience.
• Complete ongoing security awareness training and follow company policy.
• Report security risks to the appropriate Executive Leadership Team member and help remediate them.
• Take on other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 7-10 years working in roles that span infrastructure, data centers or network architecture.
• Strong knowledge of leading network and data center technology, with proven expertise across manufacturers such as Cisco, Arista, Juniper, Dell, HPE, VMware and Pure.
• Experience with automation tools such as Ansible.
• Familiarity with infrastructure management tools such as VMs, out-of-band management and VPN.
• Ability to explain technical ideas to both technical and non-technical people, and to design and present tailored solutions.
• Skill at managing competing priorities and writing thorough technical documentation.
• Strong time management and communication skills.
• Commitment to ongoing security awareness training and to following company policies.

Conditions

Must be based in the United States.

Remote position.

Base salary in New York City is $200,000-$250,000, plus opportunities for a profit-sharing bonus and/or commission.

Pay in other geographies may vary.
