Description

The company is hiring a hands-on Lead Software Engineer to lead the design, build and modernisation of large enterprise applications. Strong Angular and Java/Spring Boot skills are central to the role, along with the ability to guide engineers and deliver reliable software.

You will work with engineering management, architects and other technical leads to build scalable, maintainable applications, support external engineers and help build AI-enabled capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical design and build of enterprise applications in Angular, Java and Spring Boot.
  • Keep writing code yourself, especially for complex features, core components and critical integrations.
  • Give daily technical support to engineers and contractors through code reviews, troubleshooting and hands-on implementation help.
  • Design and build scalable REST APIs, microservices and smooth frontend-backend integrations.
  • Set engineering standards for frontend architecture, reusable components, performance and maintainability.
  • Work with data and platform engineers on data services, asynchronous processing and event-driven features.
  • Help build AI-enabled features, intelligent workflow automation and integrations with LLM-based services.
  • Turn business and technical needs into practical designs, development tasks and deliverable solutions.
  • Drive automated testing, CI/CD, code quality, secure development and operational reliability.
  • Spot technical risks, solve engineering problems and help the team meet delivery commitments.
  • Mentor engineers, share knowledge and make sure teams can own the solutions they build.

Requirements

  • 6, 10 years of relevant software engineering experience, ideally in financial services or a large, complex enterprise setting.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Angular or similar modern technologies.
  • Good understanding of microservices, RESTful APIs, system integration and database technologies.
  • Experience with code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines and secure coding standards.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to diagnose complex technical issues and recommend sound fixes.
  • Experience taking software through the full lifecycle, from requirements and design to implementation and production support.
  • Ability to evaluate technical solutions, spot improvements and contribute to engineering best practices.
  • Clear written and spoken communication, including explaining technical ideas to cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently, juggle competing priorities and take ownership of your deliverables.
  • Experience with Agile teams and working effectively with geographically distributed colleagues.
  • Ability to adapt to changing requirements, hit deadlines and support continuous improvement.
  • Bachelor's degree or university degree, or equivalent experience.
  • A Master's degree is preferred.
