Description

This is a fixed-term contract running until the end of 2027.

Core Application Engineering builds and maintains the internal applications and strategic projects that support the company's operations. The aim is platforms that are sturdy, scalable and secure, making work more efficient, simplifying workflows and making room for new ideas across the business.

The company is one of the world's leading sports technology firms, working where sports, media and betting meet. More than 1,700 sports federations, media outlets, betting operators and consumer platforms in 120 countries use its technology.

The company builds its own services with a focus on quality engineering and cloud-first design. The team is large and international, with engineering offices in Europe, Asia and the US.

The recruitment process has four steps: a short call with a Talent Acquisition Partner about your background and expectations, a technical conversation about your knowledge and experience, an onsite round with two short tasks (one with AI tools and one without) followed by a discussion of your solution, meeting the local team and a tour of the office, and finally feedback and, if successful, an offer.

Responsibilities

  • Build high-quality services and products that improve internal data flow and streamline finance processes.
  • Work in an engineering setup where AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub, Copilot and Cursor AI are part of daily work.
  • Help shape design and technology decisions.
  • Build deep knowledge of the sports data domain.

Requirements

  • You enjoy hard problems, stay focused at work and treat learning as part of the job.
  • You work well with people from different backgrounds, stay curious about technology and people, and are willing to step outside your comfort zone.
  • You keep up with current best practices and see programming languages as tools, not limits.
  • Required: Enthusiasm for technology.
  • Required: A can-do attitude.
  • Required: Proven hands-on experience building software in PHP, Symfony, React, TypeScript and SQL.
  • Required: You write clean, well-crafted, maintainable and tested code, using XP and TDD.
  • Required: An agile mindset focused on working software, collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Required: Shared values of good relationships, collaboration and trust.
  • Desirable: Experience with cloud-based applications and microservices.
  • Desirable: Familiarity with Docker and CI/CD workflows in GitLab.
  • Desirable: Experience automating tests at several levels, including unit, integration, performance and contract testing.
  • Desirable: Hands-on software development experience with Go.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of Terraform and AWS, including ECS, Lambda, RDS, S3 and ElastiCache.
  • Desirable: Experience with, or interest in, using AI in development workflows or to improve product features.
