Senior Business Analyst (FO, Metals Trading)

It works with enterprise leaders on projects ranging from AI platforms to digital transformation.

The client is a large North American financial services provider active in personal, commercial, wealth management and capital markets. After recent acquisitions it has grown its international presence and is pursuing an AI-first strategy through a new institute for applied AI and quantum computing.

Responsibilities

• Act as the subject matter expert on metals trading, covering precious and base metals.
• Focus on physically settled metals transactions and the front-office workflows around them.
• Collect, analyze and write up business requirements with traders and other key stakeholders.
• State the scope, assumptions and dependencies of each requirement clearly.
• Assess how upstream and downstream systems affect business processes.
• Work with technology teams to identify and drive system improvements for metals trading.
• Work with developers so requirements are understood and built correctly.
• Help deploy solutions and make sure business users adopt them.
• Analyze data to inform trading strategy and risk management.
• Use analytical and problem-solving skills to improve processes and results.
• Work with traders and stakeholders to keep operations running smoothly and stay compliant with regulations.
• Handle change requests and support the change management process.
• Take part in test planning and test execution.
• Work with business users during UAT to confirm solutions are well tested and meet business needs.
• Support quality assurance so deliverables are production ready.

Requirements

• Proven experience in metals trading, ideally with physically settled metals.
• Solid grasp of banking and capital markets products for commodities.
• Track record of gathering, documenting and managing business requirements.
• Experience handling change management and change requests.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and spoken communication.
• Ability to work effectively with developers, traders and stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented, with a focus on high-quality output.
• Self-starter who does well in a collaborative team.
• Experience working in front-office trading environments.
• Exposure to complex trading system integrations and data flows.
• Prior experience supporting UAT on capital markets platforms.
• Optional: experience with Openlink Endur is a strong asset.
• Optional: experience in testing and quality assurance is a plus.
• English level: Upper-Intermediate.
