Description

The company is a global contract research organization with more than 4,000 staff, focused on high-quality clinical research that supports new therapies for patients worldwide.

This senior role tests whether proposed AI capabilities meet real business needs and produce lasting results across the company.

You will lead business analysis on AI proof of concept (POC) and proof of value (POV) work, working with sponsors, clinical and operational experts, technology and data teams, Finance, vendors and control functions.

You will set measurable success criteria, establish baselines and evaluate results, giving leaders the evidence they need for investment decisions.

Success is judged by how well and how quickly your decisions move work forward: stopping weak initiatives early and giving strong ones a credible route to rollout, with rigor but little red tape.

Responsibilities

  • Run discovery and intake for AI opportunities, defining the business problem, current workflow, intended outcomes, limits, value hypothesis, and whether AI is the right fit.
  • Write POC and POV charters before evaluation starts, covering scope, requirements, success and kill criteria, evidence sources, measures, decision thresholds, dependencies and exit conditions.
  • Turn business, clinical, operational, data and AI needs into clear requirements, process maps, future-state workflows, decision rules, human review points and measurable criteria.
  • Build defensible baselines and evaluation methods with Finance, process owners and data specialists, separating adoption and activity metrics from operational outcomes and financial benefit.
  • Drive stakeholder participation and evidence collection through each evaluation, tracking quality, adoption, workflow impact, exceptions, human overrides, assumptions, limits and risks.
  • Compare expected and observed results, and turn measured operational gains into credible value cases and implementation requirements.
  • Work with Quality, Privacy, Security, Legal, Records Management and validation specialists on regulated or sensitive use cases such as GxP processes, trial data, personal or protected health information, regulated records and inspection-facing workflows.
  • Produce short, decision-ready gate scorecards and evidence packages linking the original need to requirements, results, risks, costs, measured value and a recommendation to promote, stop, recycle or defer.
  • Improve shared evaluation standards, templates, baselines, measurement methods, process maps, datasets and lessons learned so future evaluations move faster.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in business, operations, IT, life sciences, healthcare administration, data or analytics, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience, plus a minimum of 7 years in business analysis, process analysis, technology evaluation, operational improvement or value-realization work in a complex enterprise.
  • Proven skill in gathering and writing requirements, mapping current and future workflows, setting measurable baselines, analyzing before-and-after or comparison results, and tracing each item from business need to solution and outcome.
  • Experience running working sessions with sponsors, subject matter experts, technical teams, control functions and vendors or third-party providers.
  • Solid grasp of AI, automation, data and human-in-the-loop concepts, enough to assess output quality, grounding, acceptable variation, error tolerance, human review, monitoring and auditability.
  • Strong data literacy: you challenge assumptions, judge attribution and confounding, state evidence limits, and write concise executive-level recommendations.
  • Ability to influence without formal authority, manage several initiatives at once, and translate between business, clinical, operational, technical, financial and control stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in English and willingness to work hours that cover US-based stakeholders and global delivery partners.
  • Preferred: experience in clinical research, pharma, biotech, healthcare, medical devices or another regulated setting.
  • Preferred: familiarity with GxP, computerized-system validation, responsible AI frameworks, controlled comparisons or stage-gated technology evaluation.
  • Beneficial but not required: IIBA, product ownership, process improvement, analytics, Lean Six Sigma or change-management certification.
