Description

The company is a market research and analytics firm for the fast-growing digital economy. Its proprietary technology processes billions of alternative data points a day to surface insights across sectors such as software, AI, cloud, e-commerce, ridesharing and payments.

Clients include large investment funds and Fortune 500 companies. The data and research teams source and license new datasets, analyze them rigorously and frame the results in clear narrative form.

Offices are in the US (NYC, Austin, Miami, Mountain View), APAC (Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Singapore) and India. The company was raised $475M from The Carlyle Group at a valuation above $1B and was named a Best Workplace by Inc. for three consecutive years.

The Corporate team works directly with clients such as Summer Fridays, 3M and Uber to map how U.S. consumers buy from and engage with brands, helping clients understand what is happening in their business and why.

Core retail coverage is established, and client demand now extends into new sectors. The Data team in the Corporate practice is growing to meet it, and this role leads the work of bringing new verticals into coverage.

The Sectors Data team adapts the company's core retail metrics for new verticals by improving category classification, making product attribution more precise and raising data accuracy as coverage grows. You will work with the Insights team to learn what clients in new sectors need, then iterate quickly on the data to deliver it.

You will report to the Head of Data and work as a player-coach, doing hands-on analysis while setting standards, improving workflows, working across teams and coaching analysts.

The role suits someone who handles ambiguity and fast growth well, enjoys building systems from scratch and wants to help new sectors scale.

The role can be fully remote within the US, or based in NYC, Austin, Miami or Mountain View. Remote work outside those offices may be subject to New York State tax withholding.

Responsibilities

  • Own data strategy and delivery for a set of client deliverables in new sectors, focused on accuracy, client value and efficiency, and set ambitious targets with product and revenue leaders.
  • Act as the subject-matter expert on emerging sector data, supporting go-to-market teams in client conversations by explaining methods, answering questions and checking that solutions fit client needs.
  • Investigate and fix data quality issues raised by clients or internal QA, and build scalable fixes.
  • Design, standardize and maintain scalable workflows that stay consistent as coverage expands.
  • Own and evolve sector categorization frameworks, including core sector taxonomies and custom categorizations for sector-specific clients.
  • Lead as a player-coach, setting a high bar for quality, speed and innovation while mentoring the team.
  • Work with Data, Insights, Revenue and Engineering to find and deliver opportunities that grow ARR and improve processes and pipelines.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in data analytics, data operations or consulting, including 2+ years in a lead or management role.
  • 4+ years working with SQL, Python, PySpark or other programming languages to explore and transform large, complex datasets. Familiarity with GitHub and Databricks is expected.
  • Strong experience with large, messy, changing datasets, especially where definitions or taxonomies shift.
  • Comfortable with SQL and Python or similar tools, with experience building and maintaining production-grade data workflows. Spark, Databricks and GitHub experience is a plus.
  • A strong sense of ownership and an ability to create structure in fast-moving environments.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to lead projects with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Conditions

Full-time, remote-friendly role with a flexible setup: fully remote within the US, or based in NYC, Austin, Miami or Mountain View.

Remote work outside those offices may be subject to New York State tax withholding.

Candidates who currently or in the future require visa sponsorship cannot be considered.

Annual on-target earnings are expected to be $170K to $190K, plus 10% target variable. The final offer depends on factors including experience, knowledge, skills, abilities and internal team benchmarks.

The company is an equal opportunity employer.

Benefits

  • Equity is included in the compensation package.
  • Flexible work hours and flexible vacation.
  • Generous 401K match, parental leave, team events, a wellness budget and learning reimbursement.
  • Growth is based on the impact you make rather than tenure or visibility, in a setting that values ownership, respect and trust.
