Description

The company's mission is to help people manage their finances better, offering members a clear view of their money plus services that save them time and money.

The Data Analytics team is made up of analysts who use data to guide business decisions and improve the user experience. Analysts sit in a semi-embedded structure within cross-functional product teams, building analytics tooling, shaping strategy with data, and evaluating experiments on their own. They also work with analytics engineering and data science colleagues on product, operations, finance, and marketing goals.

The team is growing and hiring a Data Analyst to work more closely with the Operations and Customer Support teams. You will apply strong analysis to practical operational problems, shaping measurement and reporting, leading ad hoc investigations, and turning findings into actionable insight that improves member outcomes.

Tech stack: BigQuery, dbt, Looker, Amplitude, Deepnote.

Responsibilities

  • Work semi-embedded with operations and customer support leadership, owning complex analytic projects from start to finish: framing the question, defining the metrics, and presenting evidence-based findings that shape roadmap decisions.
  • Build trust with operations leaders and other cross-functional partners, communicate tradeoffs, manage expectations when things are unclear, and bring analytics in at the right moments.
  • Run high-impact ad hoc analyses to surface non-obvious opportunities or trends in operations data, and carry insights through to recommendations that directly affect customer outcomes.
  • Help the team scale by building self-service analytics: dashboards, metric definitions, reusable queries and notebooks, and documentation so recurring questions can be answered without a bespoke request.
  • Look for new ways to apply analytics methods and tools in operations, and teach stakeholders to use these tools in their own decisions.
  • Mentor teammates through thorough reviews and feedback, balancing rigor with speed, and escalate when scope or risk needs wider alignment.
  • Keep your initiatives on track with regular updates: clarify scope, document methods and limitations, report impact, and reprioritize when new information changes what matters most.

Requirements

  • Deep expertise in data analytics and a solid understanding of data systems and processes, especially building scalable, repeatable self-service analytics.
  • 4+ years of data analytics experience, including proven work with operations teams to drive meaningful product improvements.
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience with a BI tool such as Looker (preferred), Tableau, Databricks, or Power BI. Light experience with dbt or Airflow is a plus.
  • Strong stakeholder management and the ability to build effective relationships across the organization. You arrange a peer group of your own to get feedback.
  • You keep analytics tools accurate, complete, and timely, knowing that wrong numbers are a strategic risk as well as an asset.
  • You engage with internal clients strategically and act as a partner, not just a ticket taker.
  • You want to keep learning and are motivated by hard problems and large challenges.
  • You use AI regularly in your work, understand its trade-offs, and know when to think it through yourself instead of relying on generated output.
  • Experience in fintech, banking, or finance is a plus.
