Description

The company wants to make money management work for members without asking them to do the work. Americans carry $1.26 trillion in credit card debt, nearly one in four has no emergency savings, and only 46% of households reported retirement-account savings.

The company has wide reach, member trust, and deep insight into members' finances. Using automation and AI, it wants to help members improve their financial health, pay down debt, and save and grow money automatically.

You will be a Senior Product Manager building a new investing product from 0→1, then growing it into a core part of the company's future. You get end-to-end ownership and direct access to senior leadership, with the reach of an established platform and the impact of a small team.

You will lead a small product team of engineering and UX to find product-market fit and make the product a sustainable part of the business. Together you will learn what members need, test the riskiest assumptions, and build a simple, trustworthy experience. You will set direction, make clear prioritization calls, and own results from discovery through launch and scale.

This is a senior individual contributor role reporting to the Group Product Manager, Financial Products, working closely with the Vice President of Financial Products and senior leadership. You will work with engineering, design, data, operations, marketing, finance, legal, compliance, and external financial partners. The work covers strategy and discovery, hands-on integrations, and activation and retention analysis. Success means members value the product and the business grows.

Responsibilities

  • Understand members' financial lives, goals, and unmet needs through customer research, behavioral data, and market insight
  • Decide who to build for first, why they would choose the company, and where the product fits in their financial journey
  • Write an evidence-based product strategy with clear priorities and a list of what not to build
  • Define a focused MVP and lead development from discovery and prototyping to launch, balancing speed, scope, quality, and risk
  • Work with design and engineering to test the riskiest assumptions before committing to a full build
  • Shape the full member journey, from finding and starting the product to regular use and seeing its value
  • Work with operations, marketing, and support on launch readiness: clear education, reliable workflows, and a phased rollout
  • Work as a product trio with engineering and UX to find meaningful customer problems, test solutions, and ship strong products, owning quality and outcomes from discovery through iteration
  • Work with design, engineering, marketing, fraud, operations, and legal leaders to turn complex financial workflows into simple experiences, deciding scope, behavior, and trade-offs day to day
  • Own results after launch, including activation, engagement, retention, and business growth, using measures that reflect real member value rather than usage alone
  • Find the biggest barriers to adoption and ongoing value, and work with design, engineering, marketing, and lifecycle teams to test and scale fixes
  • Instrument the product, analyze funnels and cohorts, and pair experiments with qualitative feedback to decide what to improve, scale, or stop
  • Keep the team and leadership informed about what is being learned, what is changing, and why

Requirements

  • Proven record owning the full product lifecycle, from spotting a customer problem through discovery, design, development, launch, and iteration, with high-quality results and measurable business outcomes
  • Experience building new products from scratch: turning an unclear opportunity into a clear offer, testing risky assumptions, defining an MVP, and iterating with early customers toward product-market fit
  • Experience building consumer financial products in a regulated environment, with genuine curiosity about improving people's finances and a willingness to learn from customers and new evidence
  • Learn quickly, turn complex information into clear decisions, and revise your view when evidence changes
  • Find needs through research and data, simplify complex experiences, and know what to build and what to leave out
  • Turn customer insight, product data, and business economics into clear priorities, even with incomplete information
  • Communicate clearly, build alignment, handle disagreement, and lead teams to deliver without formal authority
  • Work confidently with engineers on APIs, integrations, and edge cases to make sound trade-offs
  • Use AI tools daily to learn and ship faster, knowing when to rely on them and when to apply your own judgment and taste
  • Preferred: experience building investing products
  • Preferred: experience working at a fast-growing startup
