Description

The company is changing how legal and professional services work by combining agentic AI, an enterprise-grade platform and deep domain knowledge.

It is an early-stage company with strong product-market fit, backed by well-regarded investors, and it is scaling quickly while defining a new product category.

The team moves fast, takes ownership and stays close to customers, guided by three values: Decisiveness, Simplicity and Job's Not Finished.

This role focuses on the people systems that support the company's global workforce, and it is the main owner of Workday HCM design and improvement, with Benefits and the Ashby applicant tracking system as your other areas of expertise.

You will work independently from requirements through deployment and shape stakeholders toward durable, scalable outcomes. You will work with People Operations, Benefits, Recruiting, Payroll, Finance, Legal and Corporate IT.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, maintain and improve Workday HCM, including complex processes, condition rules, approval routing, notifications, security assignments and worker lifecycle workflows.
  • Design solutions from unclear business needs, assess the downstream effects across HCM, Benefits, Payroll, reporting, integrations and the employee experience, and bring recommendations to key decisions.
  • Be the subject-matter expert for Benefits systems, covering plan setup, eligibility rules, enrollment workflows, vendor integrations, annual enrollment readiness, issue resolution and process improvement.
  • Support Recruiting systems and administration, including integrations and data quality.
  • Advise senior stakeholders on system capabilities, new features, configuration tradeoffs and ways to simplify or automate manual work, explaining complex topics clearly.
  • Set the testing strategy for Workday, Benefits, Ashby and connected systems, covering workflow, regression, release and user acceptance testing.
  • Trace complex or unusual system and data problems through configuration, rules, integrations and dependencies, find root causes and build lasting fixes instead of workarounds.
  • Lead enhancement projects from discovery to deployment with the partner teams, gathering requirements, documenting options and setting priorities.
  • Set the standard for configuration documentation, test plans, process maps, release notes and operating procedures that support governance and self-service.
  • Monitor system health and data integrity, lead audit and reconciliation support, and uphold security and data governance for employee and candidate data.
  • Lead Workday and vendor release management, evaluating new functionality, assessing impact, coordinating testing and driving adoption decisions.
  • Help peers and stakeholders with complex systems questions and share knowledge and best practices across the team.

Requirements

  • You have 5+ years of hands-on experience configuring and supporting Workday, an HRIS or similar enterprise business systems.
  • You have deep experience with Workday HCM configuration and the Business Process Framework, including condition rules, approval routing, notifications, security and workflow design.
  • You can design and deliver complex workflows that span systems on your own, and you know when a decision needs wider review.
  • You have a record of owning projects that improved workflows, cut manual effort or introduced new tools or automation.
  • You have turned unclear business requirements into system solutions, often with limited information, and explained technical tradeoffs to non-technical and senior audiences.
  • You have defined and run testing strategies, including regression, UAT, defect triage, data validation and production change management.
  • You have solid working knowledge of Benefits administration or Benefits systems, including eligibility, enrollment, plan configuration, vendor feeds and annual enrollment.
  • You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and can find root causes across systems, processes, integrations and data.
  • You communicate well in writing and in person, manage stakeholders and adjust your style to each audience.
  • You can manage competing priorities independently, make well-reasoned recommendations and work effectively in a fast-moving, high-growth environment.
  • Nice to have: a Workday certification or Workday Pro certification in HCM, Benefits or a related area.
  • Nice to have: experience with Workday integrations, EIBs, reports, calculated fields or APIs.
  • Nice to have: experience supporting recruiting system integrations with Workday or other people systems.
  • Nice to have: experience with Workday Benefits, Absence, Compensation, Payroll or Recruiting-related processes.
  • Nice to have: experience supporting global HR systems, multiple worker populations or international expansion.
  • Nice to have: experience leading the evaluation and adoption of new Workday or HR technology features.
  • Nice to have: experience with security configuration, role-based access, audit readiness or data governance.
  • Nice to have: experience mentoring or guiding other systems analysts or administrators.
  • Nice to have: experience working at a high-growth technology company.
