Senior Backend Developer (Java or Kotlin)

Responsibilities

• Build complex backend features from start to finish with little oversight, keeping quality high and delivery on time.
• Help other developers grow through code reviews, pair programming, and sharing knowledge.
• Own core functions or domain areas and extend your influence across several teams.
• Drive improvements to team processes, including code quality, testing, and documentation.
• Work closely with Product Owners, QA, DevOps, and other engineers to ship reliable, scalable solutions.
• Act as a technical expert and informal leader who pushes continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Strong command of the Java/JVM ecosystem.
• Hands-on experience building backend applications with Spring Boot.
• Real motivation to learn Kotlin and make it your main language quickly.
• Proven ability to design and implement complex backend solutions in a simple, effective way.
• Solid grasp of performance, security, and maintainability best practices.
• Experience across the full software development lifecycle and CI/CD workflows.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
• Clear willingness to mentor and support teammates.
• Curiosity, a commitment to learning, and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
• Nice to have: familiarity with Postgres, Kafka, REST APIs, Reactive Programming (Reactor), and monitoring tools such as Grafana and Prometheus.
