Senior Android Developer (m/f/d)

Description

The company is Europe's largest e-pharmacy, and the team behind the Android app is looking for a senior developer to take full ownership of it.

You will drive the app's architecture, scalability and long-term evolution, and help shape its technical direction, including strong views on architecture, performance and developer experience.

The tech stack includes Kotlin, the Android SDK, Jetpack Compose, Android Jetpack (ViewModel, Navigation, DataStore), Coroutines and Flow, Hilt (Dagger), Retrofit/OkHttp, Ktor and Koin.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and build of scalable, maintainable Android apps using modern architecture such as MVVM, MVI or Clean Architecture.
• Push the adoption of Jetpack Compose for declarative, responsive interfaces.
• Set standards for modularization, code quality, testing and performance, and define and evolve the app's architecture for long-term maintainability.
• Work with product managers, designers and backend engineers to deliver user-focused features.
• Own the delivery pipeline, including CI/CD, unit and UI testing, and release management.
• Keep the app stable using monitoring, logging and performance tracking tools.
• Write and maintain clear documentation on architecture decisions, features and technical processes.
• Track the latest Android trends, tools and frameworks, and suggest improvements to the codebase, tooling and processes.

Requirements

• Extensive Android development experience with strong Kotlin skills.
• Deep knowledge of the Android SDK and modern Android development practices.
• Hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose, Coroutines and Flow, dependency injection with Hilt or Dagger, and REST APIs with Retrofit or OkHttp.
• Strong grasp of clean architecture, design patterns and modularization.
• Experience testing with JUnit, Espresso and MockK, and writing code that is easy to maintain and test.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern development workflows.
• A track record of owning complex projects and delivering high-quality results on your own.
• A strong focus on performance, scalability and user experience.
