Public universities, education departments and government agencies across Australia are under pressure to serve students and citizens well with fewer resources. Enquiries, enrolments, applications and support often sit across systems and teams that don't connect. This role is in the company's ANZ CRM and industry workflows team, helping these organisations redesign those services on the company's platform.
You will lead the company's CRM coverage for education in Australia, working with universities, TAFEs and state education departments. You will also support other state government agencies and, occasionally, federal ones, alongside the wider public sector team. The team is collaborative and invests in your development, and you will help define how the company approaches education.
Responsibilities
Lead CRM pursuits across universities and education departments, from first discovery to technical win, working with Account Executives and field Solution Consultants on complex deals with several stakeholders, including formal RFPs.
Run discovery and turn institutional challenges into transformation strategies, such as unifying student enquiries across faculties or modernising how citizens apply for and renew services.
Design and deliver demonstrations that combine customer and industry workflows with partner technologies, AI agents and automation. Set up demo environments, build lightweight proofs of concept, wire integrations and style portal experiences. Fix what breaks.
Bring your CRM expertise to state government pursuits beyond education, and occasionally federal ones, working alongside the public sector Solution Consultants who own those accounts.
Build education solution frameworks, reference architectures and go-to-market plays. Present at sector events and partner briefings to become a go-to voice on student experience.
Partner with Sales and Executive Sponsors to shape long-term account strategies. Advise Chief Operating Officers, Chief Digital Officers and student services leaders.
Work with partners and delivery teams so the solution lands well with the customer.
Connect with Product Management, technology partners and consulting firms to advocate for public sector customers and track sector changes.
Coach Solution Consultants on solution design, storytelling and value articulation. Build reusable assets that help the whole pre-sales team.
Requirements
Experience using AI in work processes, decision-making or problem solving, or critically assessing its effect on your function or industry. This can include AI-powered tools, workflow automation, analysing AI-driven insights, or judging where AI could change the sector.
Experience applying AI and automation to business workflows, such as virtual agents, intelligent routing, process automation or AI-driven insights.
10+ years in pre-sales solution consulting, sales engineering or a similar technical advisory role. Background in customer experience, service transformation, student experience or citizen services is preferred.
A real understanding of how education institutions run: the student lifecycle, enquiry and case volumes, funding and compliance pressure, and how central teams work with faculties or schools.
Familiarity with how state and federal agencies buy and deliver services, including procurement and RFP processes.
A solid technical base. You understand how front ends, back ends and APIs fit together well enough to build proof-of-concept integrations and spot where they fail. You work well with AI-assisted development.
Hands-on depth in the company, particularly CSM, or equivalent depth in Salesforce, Dynamics, Pega or similar. You have built and configured things yourself.
A record of leading complex pursuits end to end, including RFPs and executive engagement.
Strong communication and presentation skills, able to speak to technical teams and executive leadership alike.
Experience mentoring other consultants, a collaborative approach, disciplined pipeline management, and willingness to travel across Australia as the role requires.
Also Valuable: experience working in or for a university, TAFE, education department or government agency.
Also Valuable: the company or related certifications.
Also Valuable: background in consulting, systems integration, contact centre or CRM transformation.
