Description

You will lead the architecture, design and rollout of scalable planning and analytics solutions in a complex SAP landscape, with SAP Analytics Cloud as the core platform.

You will set the SAC solution architecture, design advanced planning models and connect SAC to enterprise data platforms, so that planning, forecasting and reporting needs are met with strong performance, scalability and maintainability.

You will work with business stakeholders, functional consultants and technical development teams.

The company is a Business and IT boutique consultancy focused on Life Sciences, serving pharma, healthcare and animal health clients. It has over 450 employees across 25 offices worldwide and focuses on S4HANA, Data and Cloud, and emerging technologies.

The Japan presence is new and still growing. You would be an initiating member shaping that growth locally, with the chance to lead the workstream on the client side and later large projects.

You will act as the bridge between the English-speaking global business and, potentially, Japanese-speaking local operations, on projects with global clients where cross-border collaboration is standard. Expect high accountability and ownership, and direct influence on outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and maintain the end-to-end SAC architecture so it fits business needs and enterprise IT standards.
  • Lead the design of SAC planning models, covering dimensions, measures, hierarchies, calculations and data structures.
  • Build scalable planning and forecasting designs that use allocations, simulations, version management and other advanced planning features.
  • Design how SAC connects to SAP Datasphere, S4HANA, SAP BW/4HANA and other enterprise data sources.
  • Define architecture guidelines, data modeling standards and development practices for SAC work.
  • Turn complex planning requirements from functional teams and business stakeholders into workable technical solutions.
  • Guide and oversee the SAC front-end and back-end developers.
  • Review designs, flag technical risks and recommend changes that improve performance, reliability and scalability.
  • Support testing, deployment planning, technical documentation and ongoing improvement of SAC planning capabilities.

Requirements

  • Substantial hands-on experience with SAC, especially solution architecture, planning model design and enterprise analytics.
  • A track record of delivering end-to-end SAC planning solutions in complex SAP environments.
  • Deep knowledge of SAC planning models, advanced formulas, data actions, multi-actions, allocations and version management.
  • Solid grasp of SAC architecture, data connectivity, integration patterns and performance tuning.
  • Experience connecting SAC with SAP Datasphere, S4HANA, SAP BW/4HANA or other enterprise data platforms.
  • Good understanding of enterprise planning, including financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and scenario analysis.
  • Experience setting technical architecture standards, solution design principles and data modeling practices.
  • Ability to turn complex business needs into scalable architecture and guide development teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working across business and IT.

Conditions

Based in Tokyo and working remotely, with travel to Yamagata when the client requests it.

Remote work from anywhere in Japan, where the client project allows.

Temporary office in Shinbashi, or at the client or project site.

Up to 25 days a year to work from another global location, with the client's permission.

Up to 20 days of annual leave, depending on seniority.

Time off beyond standard holidays so you can recharge.

Flat hierarchy, with close mentoring by senior leaders.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • In-house workshops, academies and trainings, optional.
  • CHF 1,500 (approx. 280k JPY) a year for professional development.
  • A team budget for meetings, collaboration and get-togethers.
  • A birthday gift from the company.
  • Substantial bonuses at 5, 10 and 15 year work anniversaries.
  • 10% annual performance bonus based on company KPIs.
  • Referral reward, up to Director level, if your referral is hired.
