Description

The Robotics Software team builds autonomous robotic systems, mainly autonomous mobile equipment (AME) and intelligent robotic platforms.

The team covers the full robotics stack, from perception and planning to control and system integration.

This role helps grow the production AME data platform and developer tools, and supports operator-facing AME graphical user interface (GUI) work when needed.

The work centres on scalable data portals, cloud and data pipelines, calibration and configuration tools, robot and software-version tracking, regression reporting, and links with OTA and ROC workflows for AMEs running in production plants.

Responsibilities

  • Build and extend the AME data platform, including data portals, dashboards, version tracking, regression reports, and developer tools.
  • Create scalable cloud and data-pipeline services for robot telemetry, calibration and configuration uploads, automated reports, and production analytics.
  • Connect robot software releases, operating status, remote support, and fleet diagnostics to OTA and ROC workflows within the AME data ecosystem.
  • Keep production data systems reliable at live plants, covering databases, upload pipelines, data-quality monitoring, and incident response.
  • Help build AME GUI features when needed, such as operator dashboards, diagnostic views, fleet management tools, and data-heavy web interfaces.
  • Work with autonomy, deployment, ROC, OTA, and plant teams to scale AME software and data across more than 300 production robots at LOC, Flint, Spring Hill, Kokomo, and future sites.
  • Ship production-grade code with ownership of versioning, change control, observability, debugging, and on-call support to limit factory downtime.
  • Push for performance, reliability, accessibility, and maintainability across the software stack.
  • Bring factory operations into engineering reviews, turning complex technical KPIs into clear actions for leaders and floor technicians.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, robotics, engineering, or a related field.
  • At least five years of software engineering experience, including at least two years building user interfaces or human-robot interfaces for industrial or robotics applications.
  • Advanced JavaScript or TypeScript skills and experience with React or Angular, building responsive, data-intensive web interfaces.
  • Hands-on experience with Linux, Docker, and Git.
  • Ability to explain factory operations in engineering discussions and turn complex technical metrics into actions for both technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Preferred: 6 to 10+ years of hands-on experience building high-performance web or mobile applications, including at least five years in robotics or complex autonomous systems.
  • Preferred: Experience delivering production software in manufacturing or logistics environments.
  • Preferred: Advanced React or Angular skills combined with experience using industrial SCADA platforms such as Ignition, Siemens WinCC, or Rockwell FactoryTalk.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with 3D visualization technologies and libraries such as Three.js or WebGL.
  • Preferred: Experience with simulation environments such as NVIDIA Isaac Sim.

Conditions

This is a hybrid role: you are expected to report to a specific location at least 3 times a week, or at the frequency your manager sets.

You will be required to travel less than 25% of the time.

The company is committed to a workplace free of unlawful discrimination that also fosters inclusion and belonging.

Candidates may be required, where applicable, to complete a role-related assessment and/or a pre-employment screening before starting.

Benefits

  • Relocation benefits are available for candidates who qualify under company policy.
  • Well-being support is offered from day one, at work and at home.
  • Total rewards resources are available to review.
