Description

The company works to improve healthcare access, running hundreds of research sites and mobile clinics staffed by clinicians around the world to bring research and health services to communities that often struggle to get care.

The team builds the company's landing pages, campaign sites and brand experiences on the web, and this role owns how those sites look and work.

You will work across several brands in the company's family and split your time between design and production front-end code, with partners in web design, illustration, marketing, product engineering, web engineering and DevOps.

Your mix will shift from week to week: some weeks are 80% development and 20% design, some are the reverse, and some involve juggling several launches as a project manager.

You will join a design team that is growing.

Responsibilities

  • Take conversion-focused landing pages and brand experiences from first concept to production front-end code.
  • Prototype in the browser so choices are tested against working output, not static mockups.
  • Care about interaction details, including states, transitions, loading and error behavior, and motion.
  • Keep the look and feel of the corporate and marketing websites consistent across many simultaneous projects and brands.
  • Build with technical SEO in mind, covering metadata, structured data and site architecture.
  • Maintain existing work, including redesigns, migrations, template debt and older campaign pages.
  • Work with designers, illustrators, marketers, product engineers, web engineers and DevOps, and share progress early and often with remote teams.
  • Present and defend your work to stakeholders and leadership, explaining the reasoning behind each decision.
  • Break work into sized pieces, raise trade-offs early, and run design QA on every implementation, including code you did not write.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional web design and front-end development experience.
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • A portfolio of shipped web work, ideally with live URLs and the code behind it.
  • Strong production front-end skills: semantic HTML, modern CSS, JavaScript or TypeScript, and a framework such as React, Next or Astro.
  • Solid typography, layout, hierarchy and restraint, with enough Figma skill to work with designers and enough confidence to design directly in the browser.
  • The ability to work within an established brand and extend it to the web without breaking it.
  • An understanding of conversion-focused design and a willingness to let test data decide.
  • Experience with a headless or traditional CMS such as Contentful, Sanity or Webflow, and a sense of how marketers will use what you build.
  • Comfort with Git, branches, code review and CI.
  • Cross-browser and real-device testing discipline.
  • Comfort with copy, sometimes writing it yourself, and knowing when layout should adapt to the words.
  • Clear written communication in documentation, handoff notes and async updates for a cross-functional group.
  • The ability to present remotely and explain your decision-making.
  • Self-direction when priorities change, including running several initiatives at once and reporting status without being asked.
  • Willingness to use AI tools to prototype and iterate faster.
  • Strong collaboration across marketing, design, product, engineering and DevOps.
  • Working knowledge of accessibility (WCAG, keyboard navigation, screen readers) and web performance.
  • Interest in designing and building experiences that help people access healthcare and research.
  • Preferred: experience building and maintaining component libraries or design systems in code.
  • Preferred: full-stack capability, including APIs, data and server-side work.
  • Preferred: product design and development experience, in-app and beyond the marketing site.
  • Preferred: DevOps skills across build pipelines, environments, previews, deploys and infrastructure.
  • Preferred: experience in healthcare, clinical trials or another regulated, trust-sensitive field.
  • Preferred: experimentation and analytics work, such as A/B testing, event tracking and funnel instrumentation.
  • Preferred: motion and animation work with tools like Framer Motion, GSAP or similar.
  • Preferred: localization or multi-language site experience.
  • Preferred: illustration, 3D or other visual skills beyond UI.
