Risk Analytics Lead (m/f/d)

The company is looking for a Risk Analytics Lead to lead its risk analytics team in Berlin. Flexible working conditions are available.

The team gives analytical input to the steering teams that set and refine the risk strategy and then monitor and adjust it. It uses data insights on external end customers' solvency and fraud indicators to support decisions that balance risk. It builds customer risk strategies for different markets and ecosystems, working in a setting where learning and decisions happen in fast, technology-driven cycles.

The company has a strong presence in DACH, the Netherlands and the Nordics and plans to expand further in Europe, for example into France, Italy, Spain and the UK.

Responsibilities

• Lead a high-performing team of risk analytics experts in an international setup.
• Make sure the team uses industry-standard analytics tools and data-driven decisions to solve complex fraud and solvency risk problems and to support product expansion.
• Drive ongoing improvements to data analyses, business processes and monitoring and reporting, and set best practices for ad-hoc and deep-dive analyses.
• Provide risk insights for pricing requests and work effectively with internal stakeholders on analytical requirements.
• Take a key role in cross-functional Risk Data Science initiatives and in enabling machine learning based models and advanced analytics for risk decisioning.
• Represent the Risk Analytics team in key projects, holding project responsibility for risk steering analytics and implementation.
• Work closely with Risk Product, Risk Steering, Data Science, Pricing, Financial Controlling, Sales and Operations.
• You report to the Risk Analytics & Steering Lead, who reports to the global Client Underwriting Lead.

Requirements

• Proven track record in data analytics and credit risk management, ideally in a bank, the BNPL industry or the fast-growing payments industry.
• At least 3 years of experience leading (cross-border) teams in a relevant area such as credit risk analytics, ideally in an international, agile, cross-functional environment.
• Experience successfully enabling machine learning based models and advanced analytics for risk assessment and decisioning.
• Skilled in SQL and Python for complex analytical work.
• Enthusiasm for new technology and an understanding of what data and advanced analytics can offer.
• A strategic thinker with vision who also operates strongly and gets things done.
• English is mandatory. German or Dutch is a plus.

Conditions

Location is flexible. Preferred locations are Luxembourg, Germany (Berlin, Verl) and the Netherlands (Amsterdam, Heerenveen).
