Description

The company is a global leader in integrated logistics and material handling, providing intelligent logistics solutions for manufacturing and distribution, along with automation and software technology.

It builds and runs automated systems for storage sites, distribution hubs and factories, with 11,000 staff worldwide and over 700 in Australia and New Zealand.

The team delivers large automated material handling projects across ANZ and has a steady pipeline of work.

This is a project and supplier quality role, not manufacturing or software QA. You would sit inside project delivery teams and work directly with customers, suppliers and delivery staff, so your work is highly visible.

Staff engagement is 80% in a recent employee survey. Average tenure is 8 years, 12% of staff move up or across internally each year, and 30% of new hires come through referrals.

Responsibilities

  • Build and put in place project qualification plans with key stakeholders.
  • Investigate problems with root cause analysis, then define corrective and preventive actions.
  • Audit project management processes and check that actions are completed on time.
  • Run on-site and supplier quality audits, spot risks early and help teams stop issues from coming back.
  • Join on-site quality audits and feedback reviews with customers and key stakeholders.
  • Visit customer sites to assess processes, work on improvements with them and build good working relationships.
  • Meet internal stakeholders to review quality results, act on feedback and agree shared expectations.
  • Drive quality initiatives across project execution functions by working closely with other teams.
  • Hold regular cross-functional meetings to align priorities, clear blockers and resolve quality issues promptly.
  • Coach teams on quality standards, lean tools and continuous improvement, helping build an open and accountable quality culture.
  • Keep accurate records of audits, RCAs, CAPAs and quality metrics, and share progress through clear, data-based updates.
  • Brief management with data-driven reports and presentations on quality status, open issues, risks and corrective action progress.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience in a quality engineering or project quality role.
  • A degree or diploma in engineering, quality or a related technical discipline.
  • A Certified Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor qualification for ISO 9001 QMS standards, issued by a recognised RTO.
  • Solid experience managing supplier and subcontractor quality practices.
  • Experience in project-based settings, ideally in automated material handling, automation or construction.
  • Proven root cause analysis skills using tools such as Fishbone, 5 Whys, 8D, DMAIC and PDCA.
  • Familiarity with error-proofing (poka-yoke) in automated or control systems.
  • Quality certifications such as CQE, CRE, or Six Sigma Green or Black Belt are well regarded.
  • Clear communication and the confidence to lead external and cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites as business needs require.
  • Experience leading productive discussions, building alignment and presenting complex topics simply and practically.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with engineering, operations, SMEs and customer teams through a collaborative approach.
  • Analytical skills with Minitab, Power BI and Microsoft Office.
  • A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is also regarded.
  • You are a proactive self-starter who collaborates well and applies structured problem solving.
  • Australian work rights: PR or citizenship, plus a valid driver's licence.
