QA Engineering Leader | Quality Assurance | Retail Concept Operations

Description

This is a QA Engineering Leader role in Retail Concept Operations, within the software engineering competence hub.

The group connects franchisees with range development and suppliers, and keeps the company's overall direction aligned.

Retail Concept Operations protects, develops and enables the concept across markets and franchisees, turning concept principles into everyday retail operations that are simple to use, scale and trust.

The hub builds, runs and improves the digital products and platforms behind the franchise offer, combining software, platform and quality engineering. Teams are cross-functional, agile and fully embedded in development.

Responsibilities

• Set QA strategy and plans, and own verification and validation work across product and platform teams.
• Write test plans and strategies, and define acceptance criteria for software the team builds and for software it buys.
• Coordinate and lead QA activities so they are delivered on time.
• Coach and mentor digital product team members on QA frameworks, methods and good practice.
• Make requirements clear, consistent and high quality across teams.
• Promote test data creation, mocking in place of broad end-to-end tests, and test automation as the default approach, weighing cost, value and efficiency.
• Give coaching and direct feedback to engineering and platform communities to build a quality-first mindset.
• Work with engineering and product and platform leaders so quality is built into the delivery of every feature.
• Help teams work in a decoupled way so software quality improves and interface-level testing becomes practical.
• Act as the expert on specialist disciplines such as performance testing, penetration testing and high-availability assurance when needed.
• Support engineering managers with follow-ups, reviews and quality discussions with consultancy partners.
• Move quality work earlier (shift left) so automation and test discipline become a shared team responsibility.

Requirements

• Lead quality across the board, pushing quality work earlier and making automation a shared team habit.
• Own QA strategy and planning, and be the go-to expert on QA methods and tools.
• Partner closely with engineering managers, product and platform leaders, and software engineers to build quality into design through delivery.
• Champion clear requirements and decoupled architectures that keep QA scalable and sustainable.

Conditions

Based in Malmö, Sweden, spending most of your working time in the workplace with the team.

Reports to the Technology Manager.
